Trigger safety lock switch
This tool is equipped with a trigger safety lock switch which prevents the tool from firing a fastener when in the locked position.
• To lock: Push the switch in as far as it will go from the side of the tool with the symbol.
• To unlock: Push the switch in as far as it will go from the side of the tool with the symbol.
Loading the fasteners (Fig. B)
NOTE: Do not load fasteners of different lengths together.
• Ensure the power tool is switched off and unplugged from the power source.
• Squeeze the magazine release latch and slide the magazine pusher out.
• Tilt the tool and place the strip of fasteners along the track of the magazine channel, aligning to the bottom of the magazine with the nail points facing down.
• Slide the magazine pusher shut until the magazine release latch clicks. Ensure the nail strip stays in position whilst the magazine is being shut.
• Plug the tool back into the power source.
NOTE: For shorter nail lengths, the nail strip may lift as the magazine is being closed. To prevent this issue, carefully hold the nail strip in position until the
magazine pusher has closed over the end of the strip, then fully close the magazine. Use caution when sliding the magazine pusher shut to prevent your fingers
from being caught.
NOTE: We strongly recommend that you only use approved/genuine Tacwise fastenings.
NOTE: Some fastener strips may be too long for this magazine, therefore the strips will need to be split before loading.
Unloading the tool
• Ensure the power tool is switched off and unplugged from the power source.
• Squeeze the magazine release latch and slide the magazine pusher out.
• Tilt the tool and remove any nails from the magazine channel.
• Slide the magazine pusher shut until the magazine release latch clicks.
NOTE: Use caution when sliding the magazine pusher back to close. Do not use excessive force. Otherwise, the magazine slider could become damaged and
there is danger of your fingers being caught or pinched.
Checking the safety contact nose mechanism
• Ensure the power tool is switched off and unplugged from the power source.
• Remove all fastenings from the magazine.
• Unlock the trigger safety lock switch.
• Press the safety contact nose on the workpiece and pull the trigger. The safety contact nose mechanism and trigger should move freely.
• Place the safety contact nose on the workpiece and press the power tool down into the workpiece without pulling the trigger, the power tool should not fire.
Lift the power tool from the workpiece and the safety contact nose should spring back automatically.
• Reload the fastenings into the magazine.
NOTE: Do not use the power tool if the safety contact nose mechanism does not move freely.
Non-marking nose piece
This tool is supplied with a removable rubber non-marking nose piece, which prevents the tool from marking the surface of the work piece. This tool is designed
to be used both with and without the non-marking nose piece according to the application. For example, to fasten into tight corners or when using tongue and
groove, use the tool without the non-marking nose piece. For soft surfaces which could be damaged and left visible add the non-marking nose piece.
• Ensure the power tool is switched off and unplugged from the power source before installing or removing the non-marking nose piece.
• To remove the non-marking nose piece simply pull it off and store it whenever it is not required.
Fitting the support stand (Fig. C)
This tool is supplied with a support stand, to provide a stable platform for the tool to stand in a balanced position when not in use.
To fit the wire stand:
• Ensure the tool is switched off and unplugged
• Push the support stand into the slot situated on the reverse side of the magazine.
Operating the tool
• Load fasteners as directed in the section called Loading the fasteners.
• Turn the tool on at the on/off switch.
• Unlock the trigger safety lock switch, as directed in the section called Trigger safety lock switch.
• Hold the body of the tool and press the safety contact nose onto the work surface.
• Depress the trigger to drive the fastener.
• Lift the tool off the work surface.
