8 Maintenance and fault rectification

8.1 Maintenance

When the instrument is used properly, no special maintenance is
required in normal operation.

8.2 Rectify malfunctions

The operator of the system is responsible for taking suitable measures
to remove interferences.
LEVEL TRANSMITTER 8186 offers a maximum of reliability is
ensured. Nevertheless, faults can occur during operation. These may
be caused by the following, e.g.:

The first measures to be taken are to check the output signal and
evaluate fault messages via the indicating/adjustment module. The
procedure is described below.
Connect a handmultimeter in the suitable measuring range according
to the wiring plan. The following table describes possible errors in the
current signal and helps to remove them:
