1. Tilt the fork truck mast back before attaching the
load to the boom. (See Figure 5)

2. Attach load to the boom using front and/or rear
hooks. If necessary, both hooks may be used
simultaneously. (See Figure 6)

WARNING! Verify personnel are at a safe
distance during boom operation.
1. The forklift boom should be visually inspected by, or
under the direction of, an appointed person on a
daily or weekly schedule, depending on the severity
of the service.
2. A qualified person should establish a preventative
maintenance program for the forklift boom based
on recommendations made by the manufacturer.

3. Lift load to transporting height, remaining as close
to the ground as possible. Proceed to lift the load
slowly. If the forklift rises, the load is too heavy.
(See Figure 7)

4. Transport load to the designated location. Move
slowly, avoiding bumps, inclines, declines, etc. Verify
that the area is free of personnel. If the forklift begins
to rise at any time, stop immediately and adjust the
load center.
5. Lower load slowly, ensuring content stability before
removal of support chains or straps.
6. When lifting is complete, push the telescoping boom
into the large pipe and secure it with the locking pin.

3. Any repairs should be done by the manufacturer
or with instructions and guidance from the
manufacturer. If repairs are performed by someone
other than the manufacturer, a qualified person
should have responsibility for repairs. A qualified
person should carefully maintain dated records,
details of repairs and parts replacement, and
copies kept in your possession.
4. Replacement parts should be at least equivalent to
the original manufacturer's specifications.
