Installation
Measure the distance between stove top and the bottom of range hood. A distance of 27" to
30" is recommended*.
* Due to difference ceiling height configurations, recommended height may not applicable.
Note: Except for the connection of the ducting, the installation is very similar whether the
hood is vented from the top of the hood or back of the hood, and/or, whether the exhaust
vents out through the wall or the roof.
Note: Mounting the hood on wall studs is highly recommended.
1. Use the references in Height & Clearance on Page 5 and Measurements and Diagrams
on Page 14 to determine the location of the hood installation.
If mounting underneath the cabinet, center the hood beneath the cabinet and flush with
the front of the cabinet.
If mounting to the wall, place centered on the cabinet and flush to the wall. Ensure
venting transitions and ducts are aligned with the transition adaptor.
2. Draw electrical wires through cabinet access opening and center the hood beneath the
cabinet.
3. From inside of the hood, place screws into the center of each knockout hole and secure
to cabinet bottom and/or to the wall.
4. If venting is to be done vertically, connect and secure the 6'' round metal duct
5. Finish tightening all screws until secure. Be careful when using power tools as damage
to the range hood may occur.
6. For safety purposes, pre-drilled mounting holes are provided through the back of the
hood. For a more secure installation, use as many mounting holes as needed to secure
from the inside of hood.
7. Use the appropriate metal ducting (and/or follow the building codes in your area) to
connect the exhaust on the hood to the ductwork. If the pipe used is smaller than 6", it
will reduce the airflow and put back pressure on the motor causing excessive wear and
tear. We cannot provide warranty service on a range hood that has not been installed
following our recommendations.
8. Use aluminum foil tape to make all joints secure and air tight.
SAFETY WARNING: Risk of electrical shock. This range hood must be properly
grounded. Make sure this is done by a qualified technician in accordance with all
applicable national and local electrical codes. Before connecting the wires, switch
power OFF at the service panel and lock the service panel to prevent power from
being switched ON accidentally.
9.
Plug in the 3-prong plug in a properly grounded outlet. The outlet should be placed
within reach of the power cord.
10.
Install the baffle filters.
