How to Clean
FLOW NIPPLE SHIELD
1. Prepare two small bowls:
A. Clean warm water mixed with a

few drops of dishwashing liquid.
B. Clean drinking quality water.
2. Fill the syringe up to full capacity with
(A) water and dishwashing liquid.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you are using
the right size shield with the right size
cleaning syringe.
3. Place the syringe inside the shield,
making sure the syringe tip fi ts snugly
in the nipple, and slowly inject all the
water solution from the syringe into
the nipple. It's normal to have some
space below the shield and syringe.
TIP: Press down the tip of the nipple
shield to help it suction better to the
syringe tip before pushing down
the syringe.
4. Be sure to push down the syringe
slowly (count for 5 seconds) to ensure
the milk tube is cleaned thoroughly.
Ensure that the liquid solution is
fl owing through the tube and not
squirting on the side of the syringe.
Rinse the soapy syringe.
5. Repeat the same process with (B) clean
water until no soapy water| remains in
the tube, then rinse the exterior.
6. Get rid of any remaining water left
in tube by pushing air in with the
syringe. Repeat as necessary.
7. Leave all parts on a clean surface and
cleaning syringe in open storage case
to dry. Place nipple shield back in
storage case as silicone parts can
attract dust and lint.

NOTE : If your breastmilk contains
higher fat content, you may need
to clean more than once to clear
the channel completely.
STEP 02: DISINFECTION
IMPORTANT:
• Clean and disinfect nipple shield
before fi rst time use and at
least once a day. There is no need
to disinfect the syringe.
• To disinfect, choose to Microwave
OR Boil and follow the instructions
below.
CAUTION: Follow instructions
carefully, as the case contains hot
steam and water and may cause
burns when removed from microwave
if not handled properly. Add water to
fi ll line to properly disinfect and avoid
damage. Do not place the case on a
metallic grill or dish when placed in
the microwave. Discard and replace
at fi rst sign of weakness or damage.
OPTION 1 : MICROWAVE
NOTE: Use the case according to the
instructions below.
1. Clean nipple shield as described under.
STEP 01 : Cleaning
2. Add 15ml of drinking quality water
to the case up to the fi ll line.
3. Place shield inside the case then
close the lid.
4. Place in microwave and heat based
on chart below:
700 - 1000 W - 3 mins
