Fitting the sanding sheet
Note: Both perforated and unperforated
sanding sheets can be used. Dimen-
sions: ► Technical data – p. 23
The sanding sheet is fixed by means of a hook/loop
connector.
– Position the sanding sheet carefully and press it
down onto the sanding plate.
Note: Scope of use:
• For cleaning, deburring, smoothing,
and sanding metal, wood, and plastic
surfaces.
• Effective removal of corrosion and
surface contamination. Finish on
metal surfaces. Smoothing wood sur-
faces, removal of wood fibres before
and after priming.
Note: If the machine is operated together
with a dust extractor, perforated sanding
sheets must be used.
Position perforated sanding sheets so
that the holes in the sanding plate and the
sanding sheet coincide.
Operation
Check before switching on!
Check the safe condition of the appliance:
Fault/malfunction
Appliance is not running.
Sanding performance insufficient.
If you can't fix the fault yourself, contact your nearest
vendor. Please be aware that any improper repairs
will also invalidate the warranty and additional costs
may be incurred.

Cause
Appliance is faulty?
Sanding sheet unsuitable for the
material?
Sanding sheet worn?
– Check it for visual defects.
– Check that all parts of the machine have been
securely fitted.
– Make sure that the On/Off switch is not locked in
position.
Switching on/off
– Press the On/Off switch (1) to switch the appli-
ance on.
– Press the On/Off switch to switch the appliance
off.
Grinding/sanding
– Clamp the work piece or hold it tightly.
– Switch the appliance on and press with even
pressure on the surface to be sanded.
DANGER! Attention – danger of 
injury! The machine must only be used
for dry sanding.
Note: When working vertical surfaces,
hold the device in such a manner that the
dust sack faces downward.
Note: Excess pressure does not result in
improved sanding performance, but
increases the wear on the appliance and
the sanding sheet.

Remove all dust from the
ventilation slits of the mo-
tor.
Clean the machine.
Malfunctions and troubleshooting
In the event of a malfunction...
DANGER! Attention – danger of 
injury! Improperly conducted repairs
may prevent your machine from working
safely. Such repairs will endanger you
and your surroundings.
Malfunctions are often caused by minor faults. You
can easily remedy most of these yourself. Please
consult the following table before contacting the ven-
dor. You will save yourself a lot of trouble and possibly
money too.
Remedy
Contact your local vendor.
Replace the sanding sheet (► Fit-
ting the sanding sheet – p. 22).
How?
Use a vacuum cleaner or
a brush.
Wipe the unit with a
slightly damp cloth
