6. Maintenance
Attention! Electrocution!
▶ Before all maintenance work, remove the mains plug.
Caution Material damage.
▶ Do not use hard objects or aggressive cleaning agents for cleaning.
The following sections describe maintenance work necessary for optimum and fault-free operation.
Regular maintenance prolongs the service life and assures functionality of the pond aerator over a long
period.
Cleaning the filter
The air duct and filter must be checked approximately every 8 weeks and cleaned according to the degree of
soiling. To do so, proceed as follows:
1. Remove the mains plug.
2. Push the filter cover upwards out of the housing (⌦D1).
3. Clean the air duct underneath with a brush.
4. Remove the filter from the filter cover (⌦D2).
5. Clean the filter under running water.
6. Install the filter and filter cover again in reverse order.
7. Clearing faults
Attention! Electrocution!
▶ Before clearing faults, remove the mains plug.
Faults
Pond aerator does not pump
Pond aerator pumps, but there
is no air from the air stones
Pond aerator capacity de-
creases
Water is not clear
For other faults, please contact EHEIM Service.
Possible cause
No mains voltage
Mains plug is not inserted
Check valve is incorrectly installed
Air stones are submerged too deep
in the pond
Air duct/filter soiled
Air stones are too close to the pond
floor

Remedy
▶ Check the mains voltage
▶ Check the supply line
▶ Insert the mains plug in the mains
socket
▶ Install the check valve in the
correct installation direction
▶ Please note the maximum instal-
lation depth
▶ Clean the air duct and the filter
▶ Place the air stones higher above
the pond floor.
