7 Product Description

Invacare Futura series are wall-mounted shower seats
available with or without: backrests, support feet (to the
ground) and armrests.
8 Scope of Delivery (Fig. 1)
The scope of delivery depends on the version ordered. The
possible versions are shown in figure 1.
Not all products, models or accessories may be
available in every country.

9 Intended Use

This product is intended to be used as a shower aid.
Users are any adults and adolescents with restricted or
limited mobility (e.g.: legs and/or hips) or limited muscle
strength. If used without an assistant, the users must be able
to keep their own balance.
Indication
Restricted or limited mobility (e.g.: legs and/or hips) or
having balance issues to stand up or walk due to transitional
or permanent disabilities.
There are no contraindications known when using the
product as intended.
The maximum user weight is 135 kg.
10 Assembling the Product (Fig. 4 — 21)
Mounting of the Folding Shower Seat (Fig. 4 — 10)
1. Measure the individual seat height of the user. (Fig 5)
CAUTION!
Risk of Injury
– Mount only to walls that have a sufficient
load-bearing capacity. (Fig. 4)
– Use only suitable fastening materials.
2. Open the headless screws with an Allen key then remove
the wall mounting plate. (Fig. 6)
3. Measure the depth of the shower tray. (Fig. 7)

4. Drill two holes at the calculated height using the wall
fix board as a pattern. Also drill the third hole on the
bottom (10 mm). (Fig 8)
5. Fix the board to the wall. Use screws, washers and
plugs, suitable for the consisting underground. (Fig. 9)
6. Fix the shower seat to the board as shown in the image.
Tighten the headless screws on the underside by using
an Allen key. Attach the capping. (Fig. 10)
Mounting the Backrest (Optional) (Fig. 11 — 16)
1. Remove the backrest from the backrest holder. (Fig. 11)
2. Put the spacer plate into the designated notch in the
wall mounting plate. (Fig. 12)
3. Cover the seatplate with a cloth. Drill three holes (10
mm) using the back rest holder as a pattern. (Fig. 13)
4. Fix the board to the wall. Use screws, washers and
plugs, suitable for the consisting underground. (Fig. 14)
5. Snap on the cappings. (Fig. 15)
6. Snap on the backrest. (Fig. 16)
If applicable: The backrest with the preassembled
armrest is mounted in the same way as the backrest.
The device is dismantled by following the assembly procedure
in reverse order.
Mounting the Legs (Upgrade-Kit) (Fig. 17 — 19)
1. Drill two holes (6 mm) at the marked spot. (Fig. 17)
2. Break through the designated holes on the underside
of the seatplate. (Fig. 17)
3. Fix the bracket as shown in the image. (Fig. 18)
4. Attach the support feet by using the included screws
and nuts. (Fig. 19)
Adjusting the Legs (Fig. 20)
1. Rotate the leg extension tip counterclockwise (for
lengthening) or clockwise (for shortening). Use a spirit
level to level out correctly. (Fig. 20)

CAUTION!
Risk of Trapping/Squeezing
Do not reach into the folding mechanism. (Fig. 21)
Folding the Shower Seat
1. Fold the shower seat by grabbing the armrests and
moving them upward. (Fig. 21) (If applicable)
2. Fold up the seatplate.
Unfolding the Shower Seat
1. Unfold the shower seat by grabbing the armrests and
moving them downward. (Fig. 21) (If applicable)
2. Fold down the seatplate.
12 Maintenance

This product is maintenance-free, provided that the cleaning
and disinfection instructions are adhered to.
