Alarm Conditions - Unit will alarm for any of the following conditions
If device is unplugged while in the On mode, an alarm will sound for a limited period of time. This
alarm can be identified by the unit power fail indicator (Letter O in Figure 1) flashing synchronously
with the audible alarm. This alarm cannot be silenced by the Alarm Silence button. To correct
problem, re-attach power and put unit into Standby mode, then unplug.
If Active Sensor cord is unplugged while in the Auto mode, an alarm will sound indefinitely. This
alarm can be identified by the Auto mode indicator (Letter D in Figure 1) toggling with the alarm
indicator and audible alarm. This alarm can be silenced by the Alarm Silence button (Letter M in
Figure 1) but the alarm indicators will continue to flash until the problem is corrected. To correct
problem, place unit in Manual mode or re-attach Active Sensor cord.
If device has been running for 30 minutes and proper inflation level cannot be attained (filling and/or
venting continuously for more than 30 minutes), an alarm will sound indefinitely. This alarm can be
identified by the Comfort Control Indicator(s) (Letter I in Figure 1) toggling with the alarm indicator
and audible alarm. This alarm can be silenced by the Alarm Silence button (Letter M in Figure 1)
but the alarm indicators will continue to flash until the problem is corrected. To correct problem,
check for disconnected or damaged air cells or disconnected hose.

10.0 Setting Up the System

Place the mattress on the bed frame with the connecting hoses at the foot of the bed.
Before securing the mattress straps, raise the head and foot ends of the bed frame. Raise the
side rails. Loosely, secure mattress to bed frame by looping the nylon straps on mattress through
the bed frame and then back through the D-rings on mattress. Make sure the side rails can still
move up and down without interference.
Lower frame to its horizontal position and tighten straps.
Zip the mattress with the low-shear quilted cover and verify the cover is loose fitting to prevent
"hammocking".
Suspend Control Unit on footboard of bed using the mounting brackets on back of unit.
Connect the dual quick-connect couplings of the mattress hoses to the mating connectors located
on the side of the Control Unit.
Check that the hoses are secure by pulling gently. Ensure the hoses are not kinked or tucked
under the mattress.
Connect the plug end of the mattress sensor cord into the jack on the side of the Control Unit. Plug
the AC power cord into a properly grounded outlet. The Control Unit will enter the last mode it was
in when power was disconnected.
Press the On/Standby button on the lower right of the control panel. The mattress will begin to
inflate. This could take approximately 30 to 60 minutes for complete inflation. After inflation is
complete perform the Hand Check.
