19.

Ordinary maintenance

19.1. Check all mechanical parts of the bicycle monthly.
19.2. Check saddle, seat post and handlebar bend safety:
• Check that all locking devices have not loosened;
• Clean the surface of the components only with specific detergents or with a
dampened anti-scratch cloth.
19.3. Keep the chain clean and lubricate frequently with specific grease. Once
lubricated, clean any excess grease with a cotton cloth.
19.4. Brake Check:
• Check that brakes work correctly.
• Check that there is no dirt between the brake pads and the wheel rim or any
material which may affect the braking action.
• If the brake pads show signs of deterioration or wear, contact your dealer to replace
them.
• Check that the electrical cables, leaving the levers, are not disconnected or
damaged.
• Check that the motor stops when braking.
• Check that all screws of the braking system are firmly tight and fastened.
19.5. Check the condition of the wheels:
• Check that there is no excessive play and no sideways wobble between the wheel
and the centre of rotation.
• Check that all spokes are well-tightened and that there are no broken ones.
• Check the wear of the wheel rim by means of the appropriate mark on the sides.
• Check that there are no signs of damage such as: cracks or deformations.
• Clean the wheel surface only with special detergents.
• Lubricate all mechanical parts with specific bicycle grease. Clean any excess.
19.6. Motor control:
• Check that there is no abnormal noise or power loss during use.
• Check that the electrical wires show no signs of deterioration.
• Check that the repositionable connector is well connected and free from damage.
• Clean the outside surface only with specific detergents and lubricate moving parts
with specific grease.
19.7. Check that the control sensor, located behind the chain set, is well cleaned and
aligned with the magnetic flange.
19.8. Gears maintenance:
• Check the gears work correctly. If necessary, ask your dealer to regulate the
alignment with the sprocket unit.
WARNING: should the gears be set incorrectly, a rapid wear of all parts that affect
the motion of the bike may occur.
• Check that the gear cable runs smoothly and without excessive friction inside its
sleeve.
• Clean and lubricate only with special detergents.
