3 Applications

The set US-8001DBGY/ 5 is a wireless audio
transmission system for vocal sound and speech
applications The transmission channel can be
selected from 16 channels in the UHF range
518 – 542 MHz The system consists of a Diver-
sity* receiver and a headband microphone with
an integrated transmitter The system is ideally
suited for applications that require much freedom
of movement (e g health clubs, physical educa-
tion, dancing lessons, presentations)
The receiver is also available as a separate
item (item number: US-8001DB / 5); thus, it is pos-
sible to expand the system when the signal of the
transmitter is to be provided to multiple receivers
* Diversity technology: The signal sent from the transmit-
ter is received by two antennas placed at a distance from
each other and checked for its quality. The signal of the
highest quality is then used.

4 Rack Installation

For installation of up to two receivers into a rack
(482 mm / 19"), the holder DR-900SET from JTS
is available as a separate accessory The holder
requires 1 RS (= 44 5 mm) in the rack
5 Connection of the Receiver
1) Insert the antennas provided (20) into the an-
tenna jacks (14) and put them in a vertical
position
2) Connect the receiver to the subsequent audio
unit, e g mixer or amplifier Depending on the
input available at the subsequent unit, use one
of the following two outputs:
– XLR output (22): balanced output for con-
nection to a microphone input
– 6 3 mm output jack (21): unbalanced output
for connection to an input for units with
line signal level (matching connection cable
supplied)
3) For power supply, connect the power supply
unit provided to the power supply jack (24)
and to a mains socket (230 V/ 50 Hz) The re-
ceiver is provided with a strain relief (23): Lead
the cable around the hook at the bottom of
the housing to prevent accidental disconnec-
tion of the power supply unit from the receiver
Note: The power supply unit will still consume some
power when the receiver has been switched off
Therefore, always disconnect the power supply unit
from the mains socket if the receiver is not operated
for a longer period of time
6 Power Supply of the Transmitter
Remove the battery compartment cover (1) and
insert a battery of size AAA as indicated in the
compartment Then close the cover again The
cover can be replaced with one of the two covers
of a different colour (recommended when using
multiple systems US-8001DBGY/ 5 to mark each
transmitter differently)
If the transmitter is not used for a longer time,
remove the battery as a precaution so that the
transmitter will not be damaged in case the bat-
tery should leak
Never put batteries in the household
waste Always dispose of the batteries
in accordance with local regulations
