OPERATIONAL TEST WHEN EMPTY

To familiarize you with the DUCATRON Quattro, we advise you to carry out your first test "on empty" by
following the directions below.
1. Place the 30mm Ø stainless steel cylinder in the smallest of the cradles delivered as part of the
accessories.
2. Place the cradle + cylinder assembly on the machine arm.
3. Position the silica crucible fitted with its vitrified carbon sleeve in its designed place on the arm.
4. Switch on the power to the machine using the "START" switch on the control panel.
5. Bring the arm to its median. A signal sounds and a warning light confirms correct positioning.
6. Activate "SELF" switch.
7. Close cover.
8. After setting generator power to 80% (4 lights illuminated), operate "FUSION" switch.
9. Wait about 15 seconds (carbon sleeve goes red) then operate "INJECT" switch.
10. After some fifteen seconds push on "STOP" button to stop cycle.
11. The cover automatically unlocks some seconds later.

ARM BALANCING

The DUCATRON Quattro arm balancing system is identical to that well-tried on the DUCATRON Series 3
machine.
It is effective because of the six cradle models designed for the various cylinder types.
As a function of cradle size, a specific counterweight is fitted to maintain a total constant weight (1150g
±70g).
For information the table below shows the theoretical weights of the different (clean) cylinders along with
the weights of the corresponding cradles.

PLEASE NOTE!
Never start to rotate arm without having checked for the presence of a cradle and its cylinder. Having no
cradle and cylinder on the arm will create strong vibrations in the machine and could damage internal
parts.
