IV. Installation and Operation
Installation Requirements
The NSC systems are to be used on potable water only. If there is a hot water heater, installed after the NSC system, there
must be a check valve to prevent hot water from entering the NSC system. The user must ensure that the feed water to the
system is microbiologically safe and meets the Operating Specifications outlined in the specifications on page 3. If your water
analysis shows levels in excess of the maximums, contact KineticoPRO Technical Services for pretreatment recommendations.
Install the system where it will be protected from extreme heat, cold and precipitation. Always abide by local plumbing
codes when installing the system.
Plumbing (refer to Figures 1 and 2)
1.
Connect 1/4" tubing from the feed water supply to the green bulkhead connector marked FEED.
2.
Connect 1/4" tubing from the yellow bulkhead connector marked DRAIN to the drain.
3.
Connect 3/8" tubing from the grey bulkhead connector marked TANK to the pressurized storage tank.
4.
Postfilter for NSC-250 - Install the postfilter in the 3/8" tubing between the blue PRODUCT bulkhead connector
and the point-of-use dispensing device. Make sure to leave sufficient tubing between the postfilter and the
system to facilitate easy access.
System Flush
1.
Before the system can be used for water production it must be adequately flushed. Each supplied storage tank is
dosed with a small amount of powdered sanitizer before shipment. Additionally, the carbon postfilter cartridge
will release a small amount of carbon fines during the first tankful of flow. This flushing procedure will allow any
sanitizer or carbon fines to pass from the system.
2.
Check all tubing connections to ensure they are firmly seated. CHECK TO SEE THAT THE CARTRIDGE RETAINER
CLIPS ARE PROPERLY ENGAGED AND LOCKED. Failure to keep the retaining clip in place will result in
accidental leaks and flooding.
3.
Turn on the water supply and check for leaks.
4.
Plug the system into an electrical outlet. CAUTION: The pump will start.
5.
Allow the system to run and the tank to fill.
6.
When the tank is full, the pump will shut-off. Leave the tank undisturbed for at least 8 hours to ensure proper
sanitization.
7.
Within one to two hours after initial application of water pressure, check again for leaks especially at the tank, faucet
tubing and connectors. These parts will not see full pressure until approximately 2 hours after the system is activated.
8.
After 8 hours has elapsed, open the product water valve or dispensing faucet fully to allow the product water to run
out to drain at maximum flow. The initial discharge will flush carbon fines and debris from the system. There may also
be the scent of chlorine residual water from the sanitizing agent. When the flow has diminished to a fast drip or small
stream, close the dispensing faucet or valve. If a chlorine scent persists, refill the tank and flush to drain.
