When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed,

Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
Do not charge the unit outdoors.
Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near
children.
Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments.
Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has
been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service
center for inspection. Call 1 :800-32l-Il34 for the nearest service center or visit our
website at www.dirtdevil.com.
Do not abuse the cord. Never carry the charger or base by the cord or yank to
disconnect from an outlet; instead grasp the charger and pull to disconnect. Keep
cord away from heated surfaces. Do not pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do
not close door on the charger cord.
Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
This product includes rechargeable nickel cadmium batteries. Do not incinerate
batteries or expose to high temperatures, as they may explode.
Unplug the charger from the outlet before any routine cleaning or maintenance.
Do not put any object into openings.
Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that
may reduce air flow.
Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or
hot ashes.
Do not use without filter in place.
Turn off all controls before unplugging.
Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gaqoline or use in
areas where they may be present.
Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. If the liquid, which is
20-35% solution of potassium hydroxide,
gets
on
the skin

wash quickly with soap
and water or (2) neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon juice or vinegar. If the liquid
gets into the eyes, flush them immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10
minutes. Seek medical attention.
Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge.

NOTE: Only use charger supplied by Royal Appliance Mfg. to recharge.
CHARGE 24 HOURS BEFORE FIRST USE.

Connect wall charger to the outlet.
2. Plug charger mto charger inlet.The charging indicator light will illuminate when cleaner is charging.
1. Remove cleaner from charging base.
2. Press power button and hold down to vacuum up dust and debris. Release to shut cleaner off.
1. Grasp dirt cup and remove by gently pulling it away from the mam body.
2. Pull filter out and empty contents into wastebasket. Remove any extra debr~s from the filter and then replace in dirt cup.
3. To replace filter, line up the 3 notches in the filter with the 3 tabs on the dirt cup. Firmly press the filter into the d ~ r t cup
and check the ahgnment of the filter. NOTE: Dust may escape through the vents if filter is misaligned.
4. Reattach dirt cup.
1. Slide brush attachment into vacuum nozzle as needed. Remove when finished.
2. Store on charging base when not in use.
NOTE: Designed to sit in the charging base on a flat surface or mount on wall vertically.
FOR MOUNTING ON WALL:
1. Place charging base against surface and mark the center of the holes.
2. Drill 3/16" holes through the center of the marks.

3. Push plastic wall anchors into drilled holes
4. Tighten screws into wall anchors leaving 1 1 4 clearance between the screw head and the wall s~rface.
5. Slide the charging base onto the screws. Adjust screw clearance as needed to ensure a tight fit.
Keep charger plugged into a standard outlet at all times. It is normal for the charger to become warm to the touch when
charging. If the operating time gets shorter after repeated use, let the unit run until it stops running. Recharge for 24 hours
and repeat monthly for best results.

PACK PROPERLY.

Upon removal, cover the battery packs terminals with heavy duty adhesive tape. Do not attempt to destroy or disassemble
battery pack or remove any of its components. Nickel-cadmium batteries must be recycled or disposed of properly. Also,
never touch both terminals with metal objects and/or body parts as short circuit may result. Keep away from children. Failure
to comply with these warnings could result in fire and/or serious injury.

In the event that further assistance is required, see your Yellow Pages for an authorized Royalm Dealer. Costs of any
transportation to and from any place of repair are to be paid by the owner. The service parts used in this unit are
easily replaced and readily available from an authorized Royalm Dealer or retailer. Always identify your cleaner by the
model number and manufacturing code when requesting information or ordering replacement parts. (The model
number appears on the bottom of the cleaner.)

To the consumer, Royal Appliance Mfg. Co. warrants this vacuum cleaner to be free of defects in material or workmanship
commencing upon the date of the original purchase. Refer to your vacuum cleaner carton for the length of warranty and
save your original sales receipt to validate start of warranty period.

If the vacuum cleaner should become defective within the warranty period, we will repair or replace any defective parts free
of charge. The complete machine must be delivered
to any ROYAL Authorized Sales &Warranty Service Station.
