Kit W175-0688 Natural Gas to Propane Includes:

1x #53 BURNER ORIFICE
1x CONVERSION DATA LABEL
1x PROPANE PILOT INJECTOR
This conversion kit shall be installed by a qualifi ed service agency in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions and all applicable codes and requirements of the authority having
jurisdiction. If the information in these instructions is not followed exactly, a fi re, explosion or
production of carbon monoxide may result causing property damage, personal injury or loss
of life. The qualifi ed service agency is responsible for the proper installation of this kit. The
installation is not proper and complete until the operation of the converted appliance is checked
as specifi ed in the owner instructions supplied with the kit.
WARNING: Failure to position the parts in accordance with these diagrams or failure to use only parts specifi cally approved
with this appliance may result in property damage or personal injury.
CAUTION: Before proceeding with conversion, the gas supply must be shut off prior to disconnecting the electrical supply.
1. Open the glass viewing door.
2. Remove all glass embers and the 6
screws holding the glass ember tray in
place (Fig. 1).
3. Remove the burner tube (Fig. 2).
4. Remove the burner orifi ce. A back-up
wrench must be used on the manifold to
ensure that the fl ex tubing does not twist
or kink. Replace with the burner orifi ce
supplied using pipe thread compound.
5. Remove the pilot hood from the pilot as-
sembly by pulling vertically. Use an Allen
key to unscrew the injector. Replace the
pilot injector with the one supplied. Re-
assemble the pilot hood onto the assembly, ensuring key position for proper alignment (Fig. 3).
6. Before replacing the burner assembly, adjust the air shutter opening according to the table on the back of this leafl et.
7. Re-install and re-secure the burner tube, ensuring that the venturi fi ts over the burner orifi ce.
8. Re-install the glass ember tray.
9. To convert the main valve to the desired fuel, follow the instructions that are supplied with the regulator
assembly kit.
10. The conversion data label must be fi lled out and attached adjacent to the valve.
11. Turn on the gas supply and check for gas leaks by brushing on a soap and water solution. Do not use
open fl ame.
12. Light the pilot and main burner to ensure that the gas lines have been purged. Purge all gas lines
with the glass door open.
13. Replace the glass embers.
14. Assure that a continuous fl ow is at the burer before closing the glass viewing door. Turn on
the electrical supply to the appliance.
