4.3 Distinction between the different models
When replacing the proportional flow controller, the
new model must comply with the existing one.
Version 1:
Version 2:
5 Installation
Before replacing the proportional flow controller, the
heat exchanger has to cool down. Then, close the
heating circuit and draw off hot water for 1 minute.
Close all open connections and depressurize
pipework via the venting valves.
5.1 Existing controller corresponds to version 1
The following components have to be replaced:
– Proportional flow controller (pos. 1)
– Pipe (pos. 2/3) or coupling (pos. 4) between the
potable water outlet (A) of the proportional flow
controller and the heat exchanger
– Cold water throttling discs (pos. 5/6/7) with spacer
ring (pos. 9) in the potable water entry of the pro-
portional flow controller (colour like before)
– All relevant flat seals (pos. 8)
5.2 Existing controller corresponds to version 2
The following components have to be replaced:
– Proportional flow controller (pos. 1)
– Cold water throttling discs (pos. 5/6/7) with spacer
ring (pos. 9) in the potable water entry of the pro-
portional flow controller (colour like before)
– All relevant flat seals (pos. 8)
Installation of the cold water throttling disc
Warning advice under paragraph 2 (safety
notes) must be observed
PRECAUTION
– Do not use any lubricant or oil when installing
the valve as these may destroy the seals. If
necessary, all dirt particles and lubricant or oil
residues must be removed from the pipework
by flushing the latter.
– When choosing the operating fluid, the latest
technical development has to be considered
(e.g. VDI 2035).
– Please protect against external forces (e.g. im-
pacts, vibrations etc.).
After installation, check all installation points for leaks.
6 Operation
Before initial operation, Impurities must be removed
from the pipework by flushing the latter
Procedure:
– Flush system thoroughly.
– Clean filter in the supply pipe.
– Clean filter in the heating circuit return.
– Check all connection points for leaks.
7 Return of replaced
proportional flow controller
Mount protection caps (pos. 10 + 11) and pack the
flow controller in the supplied plastic pouch. Return
the flow controller in the original packaging together
with the completed description of malfunctions to the
following address:

Complaints of proportional flow controllers which
are not returned in the supplied plastic pouch
cannot be accepted.
