14. Für den Fahrbetrieb: Das Zahnradgetriebe neben dem Führerstand durch Ziehen
des Kupplungshebels einkuppeln. Für den Standbetrieb (zum Betreiben von Dampf-
modellen): Durch seitlichen Druck auf den Kupplungshebel das Getriebe auskup-
peln. Nach ca. 5 Minuten Anheizzeit, spätestens wenn das Federsicherheitsventil
selbstständig öffnet, den Dampfabsperrhahn öffnen und das Schwungrad anwerfen.
Das Schwungrad kann in beide Drehrichtungen angeworfen werden, hierdurch ist
Vor- oder Rückwärtsfahren möglich. Die Fahrgeschwindigkeit kann über den Dampf-
absperrhahn geregelt werden. Ausgekuppelt kann das Dampfmodell als stationäre
Dampfmaschine eingesetzt werden. Über die Schnurlaufrolle neben dem Schwungrad
können die Modelle angetrieben werden. Wenn das Dampfmodell ohne Dampfbetrieb
gefahren werden soll, das Getriebe ebenfalls auskuppeln.
15. Der Abdampf (Kondensat) wird vom Zylinder durch ein Rohr in den vorderen
Teil des Kessels unter den Kamin geleitet. Daher ist das Dampfrohr hier auch nicht
eingelötet, da in dem Kondensatbehälter (getrennt vom Kessel) kein Druck entstehen
kann. Vor dem Entleeren des Kondensates den Dampfabsperrhahn schließen, das
Dampfmodell stoppen, den Brennerschieber herausziehen und auf eine feuerfeste Un-
terlage legen, bis die Brennstofftabletten restlos abbrennen. Jetzt zum Entleeren des
Kondensats das Modell seitlich nach vorne kippen. Vorsicht: Verbrühungsgefahr
durch heißes Kondensat!
16. Nach Beendigung des Dampfbetriebes und dem Abkühlen sollte das Dampfmo-
dell gewartet werden. Noch im Kessel vorhandenes Wasser durch Herausnehmen des
Federsicherheitsventiles und Öffnen der Dampfpfeife entleeren. Vorsicht bei hei-
ßem Wasser! Im Kessel verbleibendes Wasser kann der Funktion nicht schaden, aber
evtl. zu Ablagerungen an dem Schauglas führen. Kalkrückstände am Wasserstands-
schauglas oder im Kessel auf keinem Fall mit Essig oder sonstigen stark ätzenden
Mitteln entfernen (Empfehlung : Wilesco Entkalker Z84). Eine Rußbildung an der
Unterseite des Kessel beeinflusst ebenfalls nicht die Funktion und kann mit einer
Bürste entfernt werden. Zum Abschluss das Modell trockenputzen.
Garantie:
17. Alle WILESCO - Dampfmodelle sind sorgfältig geprüft. Sollte trotzdem ein Man-
gel auftreten, helfen wir oder reparieren das Dampfmodell. Sie können das Dampf-
modell über Ihren Fachhändler oder direkt an uns frei einsenden. Wir bitten um Ver-
ständnis, dass bereits angeheizte/gebrauchte Modelle nicht gegen neue ausge-
tauscht werden können. Die häufigsten Reklamationen sind undichte Dampfkessel.
Die Lötnahte werden durch Beheizung ohne ausreichenden Wasserstand zerstört. In
solchen Fällen verflüssigt sich das Lötzinn an den Lötnähten tropfenförmig und der
Kessel wird undicht. Dies ist ein eindeutiger Beweis, dass der Kessel trockengeheizt
wurde. Bitte beobachten Sie stets sorgfältig den Wasserstand, da eine Trocken-
beheizung jegliche Garantieansprüche ausschließt.
Zur Dampfwalze und zum Dampftraktor ist eine auf das Lenkrad aufsteckbare manu-
elle Fernsteuerung Z361 (Bestell-Nr. 00361) bestellbar.

18. Verschiedene Elemente sind aus poliertem Messing. Diese wurden gegen Anlau-
fen bzw. Oxydieren durch das Aufspritzen von Klarlack geschützt. Beim Anheizen,
d. h. bei einer Inbetriebnahme des Modelles, besteht die Möglichkeit, dass der aufge-
tragene Klarlack abbrennt und dadurch das Modell anschließend anläuft, bzw. die
Messingteile oxydieren. Es ist zu empfehlen, die Modelle dann regelmäßig zu putzen
oder den Kessel, das Brennerhaus usw. erneut mit einem lufttrocknenden Klarlack zu
schützen.

19. Das Beleuchtungs-Set besteht aus 8 Leuchtdioden, befestigt an zwei starren Lei-
terplatten zur Stromführung. Der aufmontierte Dynamo erzeugt Gleichstrom. Daher
können die Leuchtdioden nur bei einer Drehrichtung des Dynamos zum Leuchten ge-
bracht werden. Die Stromkabel sind so angeschlossen, (schwarzes Kabel-schwarzer
Dynamostecker, rotes Kabel-roter Dynamostecker), dass die Dioden aufleuchten,
wenn die Showman's Engine vorwärts fährt. Im Standbetrieb (bei ausgekuppeltem
Zahnradantrieb) ist daher darauf zu achten, dass das Schwungrad in die entsprechen-
de Richtung angeworfen wird. Sollen die Dioden bei einer Rückwärtsfahrt aufleuch-
ten, so müssen lediglich die Kabelanschlüsse vom Dynamo abgezogen und wechsel-
seitig neu aufgesteckt werden.
Umweltschutz wird auch bei uns groß geschrieben. Somit haben Sie die Möglichkeit
nach einem langen Dampfmaschinenleben das Modell und auch die Original-Verpa-
ckung an uns zurückzugeben. (Versandkosten werden nicht übernommen.) Alle zu-
rückgesandten Modelle / Verpackungen werden von uns einem fachgerechten Recy-
cling zugeführt.
Dieses Modell ist ausschließlich für die oben beschriebene Funktion bestimmt.
Technische Änderungen behalten wir uns vor.

precautions for your own safety:
1. For safety reasons, children should run the steam engine
only under supervision of adults (recommended age: from
8 years on, not recommended for children under 36
months). During the operation of the steam model until its
complete cooling the engine must be under constant observation.
2. Each irregularity during operation has to be repaired by a competent and
authorized person or by WILESCO themselves. Otherwise any warranty or liability is
void.
3. Any unauthorized change, repair or manipulation to the standard specification will
also invalidate the warranty.
4. All parts which are under steam pressure so as boiler, spring loaded safety valve
etc. leave our works only after a 100% examination. The spring loaded safety valve
must not be manipulated. The operation of the steam engine without any spring
loaded safety valve is not allowed The function of the spring loaded valve has to be
checked before each operation by pressing the spring or by a small pull on the upper
valve rod. If lime residues caused by hard water are visible on the spring loaded
safety valve, it has to be replaced immediately.
5. High temperatures: The principles on which the engine works mean that the
burner slide, boiler, boiler house, the spring loaded safety valve, the steam pipes etc.
become very hot. Do not touch in order to avoid the risk of burns.
6. Safety precautions: During operation, take care that children do not touch any of
the moving parts.
7. Danger if the boiler is heated without enough water! Always
ensure that there is enough water in the boiler of the steam engine.
Caution: When refilling WiTabs dry fuel tablets also refill up to the max.
level.. The water must always be visible at least at the lower end of
the sight glass, otherwise the joints become leaking and the boiler will be destroyed.
Any resulting claim, damage or consequential damage cannot be accepted. If the
boiler or any steam leading part leak, stop the steam model immediately by removing
the burner slide. Any necessary repair should be carried out by authorized staff or at
the WILESCO company.
8. The steam engine meets all safety standards and actual regulations. Each boiler has
been submitted to a bursting pressure and water test of 5 bar. The operating pressure
is maximally 1,5 bar.
9. Imperatively keep the operating instructions with your steam engine.
Caution: Don't operate the steam model near flammable objects or on
temperature-sensitive surfaces. Operation only under windless condition.
Operating instructions
10. Filling with water at the first operation and after cooling of the boiler: Unscrew
the spring loaded safety valve and fill the boiler with the funnel up to the water level
maximum (upper end of the sight glass), if possible with warm water. Lift the funnel
slightly during filling so that the air inside the boiler can escape. Use only deficient in
lime water or, even better, water without any lime (e.g. distilled water). Then refit
the spring loaded safety valve (with sealing rings.)
11. Note: The steam whistle makes it possible to easily regulate any overpressure in
the boiler.
12. Before you oil the cylinder, turn off the steam regulator (open = vertical position,
closed = horizontal position). Then turn off the oil filler screw and fill in with WILESCO
Steam Oil (item n° Z 83) while turning the flywheel several times so that the oil is grawn
in. Oil again when you refill dry spirit tablets so that the piston does not seize (2-3 drops oil
are enough for approx. 10 minutes running time). Keep the steam regulator closed
during the oiling procedure. Oil lightly all of the bearings and linkages. Before refilling
the boiler with water, check by operating the steam whistle that no steam pressure is in the
boiler.
13. Place only original WiTabs dry fuel tablets upright in the burner slide
(not more than 2 pcs.) and light them. Push the burner slide into the
burner slide guide completely in. Caution: because of the risk of
danger from an open flame, always take the necessary safety
precautions. The flame height and thus the energy supply can be
regulated during operation of the steam engine by moving the burner slider slightly
(approx. 2 - 3 mm). Important: After the heating process, remove the burner
slide from the guide whilst it is still hot, otherwise unburnt fuel may cause the slide
to stick. If the slide becomes stuck, it can be removed by tilting it slightly to the left
or right. Caution: Dry fuel tablets require a lot of oxygen to burn properly. That is
the reason why, for an indoors use, the room should be well ventilated. To
prevent unpleasant smells, the fuel tablets should burn out - they should not be blown
out. If there is not enough water in the boiler, place the burner slide on a fireproof
plate until the tablets have burned out completely.
14. For driving operation: engage the gear next to the cab by pulling the
clutch lever. For stationary operation (for operating steam models):
Disengage the gear by pressing the clutch lever sideways. After approx. 5
minutes of warm-up time, at the latest when the spring safety valve opens
automatically, open the steam regulator and start the flywheel. The
flywheel can be started in both directions of rotation, thus enabling forward or
reverse travel. The driving speed can be controlled via the steam regulator. When
disengaged, the steam model can be used as a stationary steam engine. The models
can be driven via the grooved pulley next to the flywheel. If the steam model is to be
driven without steam operation, also disengage the clutch.
15. The exhaust steam (condensed water) goes from the cylinder through a pipe into
the front part of the boiler under the smoke stack. That is the reason why the steam
pipe is not soldered because no pressure comes in the condensed water container
(separated from the boiler). Before removing the condensed water, close the steam
