INSTALLATION
Driver Housing Access
1.
Dis-assembly and assembly sequences are common to all MLLA M2,
DLLA M2 and PLLA M2 luminaires. A MLLA2 M2 luminaire has been
used in the supporting images and illustrations.
2.
Ensure the environment is free of any explosion hazards (gas or dust) prior
to attempting to service the luminaire
3.
De-energize supply circuit and confirm the removal of mains power at the
fixture prior to performing any servicing.
4.
Loosen the eight (8) #10-32 x .75" stainless steel cover screws (see
Figure 1) until screws are free from driver housing. Screws are a captive
type and should not be fully removed from the light engine fitting
assembly.
5.
Pull the retention clips on the light engine assembly to free it from the
driver housing and pivot the light engine fitting on the driver housing
service hooks. This shall expose the internal volume of the driver housing.
MLLA/DLLA/PLLA SRG1 Module Replacement
(Eaton Catalog #: M2-MLLA-SRG3-KIT)
1.
Inspect luminaire ground wires to make sure connections are tight and
wires are undamaged
2.
Locate and disconnect terminal connections to the surge module(see
Figure 2) beginning with line (black), then neutral (white), and finally
ground (green/yellow).
3.
Remove two (2) 6-32 pan head mounting screws that are used to secure
the surge module to the mounting bracket (see Figure 3).
4.
Remove two (2) 8-32 hex head mounting screws that are used to secure
the mounting bracket to the driver housing (see Figure 4).
5.
Remove old surge module and dispose/recycle as electronic waste
consistent with prevailing regulations.
6.
Install new surge module bracket provided in replacement kit. Secure
bracket to the luminaire housing with two (2) hex head screws provided
(see Figure 4). Torque screws to 20 in-lb [2.3 N-m].
7 .
Install new surge module provided in replacement kit. Secure to mounting
bracket with two (2) pan head screws provided (see Figure 3). Torque
screws to 10 in-lb [1.1 N-m].
8.
Reconnect surge module input wires to terminal block connections
starting with the ground (green/yellow), followed by neutral (white) and
lastly the line (black) connection (see Figures 2 & 5).
9.
Ensure wire routing and terminal placements will allow closure of the
luminaire without wire pinching or component interference.
10. With the replacement surge module installed and the wiring secured,
rotate the light engine sub-assembly back on the driver housing and
secure the eight (8) mounting screws. Tighten using the pattern indicated
in Figure1. Torque mounting screws to 23 in-lb [2.6 N-m].
