OPERATION
1. Make sure all connections are tightly secured.
2. Ensure the skimmer collection cup lid (1), collection cup (2) are securely and
correctly positioned on the water inlet chamber (6). Failure to do so could result
in leaks.
3. Move the water level adjustment slide (15) to make sure it is in a fully open
position (see diagrams below) and the water outlet (14) is unrestricted.

INITIAL OPERATION
1. Plug in and switch on your pump.
2. Move the water level adjustment slide (15) until the micro
bubbles fill the water inlet chamber (6) and are just starting to
rise up the inside of the collection cup (2) (see diagram). Let
the pump run for 24-48 hours to allow the skimmer to
establish itself.
3. Once the skimmer has been established, if required move the
water level adjustment slide (15) to control the water level
within the skimmer and consequently the desired foam
consistency.
Please Note: If you adjust the water level adjustment slide (15), to avoid flooding of
the skimmer you may also need to adjust the water flow from your water supply pump.
Please Note: Variables such as introducing new fish or invertebrates into the
aquarium, changes in salinity, frequent feeding, adding supplements or medications,
fluctuations in water quality, water changes and maintenance may temporarily alter the
performance of the V
Please Note: With any protein skimmer it is perfectly normal for some bubbles to
pass through the skimmer and enter into the aquarium.This generally occurs when
the skimmer has been installed on a new aquarium or on an aquarium where there is
very little organic matter or particles to be removed.The majority of these bubbles
will be used in the skimming process when there is sufficient organic matter and/or
detritus in the aquarium to be removed and the skimmer starts to skim. If you feel it is
necessary you can adjust the water level adjustment slide (15) to reduce the water
flow entering the aquarium from the skimmer. However this should only be necessary
on a temporary basis. If you adjust the water level adjustment slide (15), to avoid
flooding of the skimmer you may also need to adjust the water flow from your water
supply pump.
Please Note: The V²Skim 80 Micro Skimmer is not designed to be used
with, or connected to, ozone generators.
