Life cycle of our
CarboProbe products
Introduction
As part of our ISO 14001 certification, ECONOX
has decided to make its range of oxygen probes
100%
recyclable. The aim of this approach is to
limit our impact on the environment as far as
possible by complementing our ISO 14001 certifi-
cation with a complete « recycling » section
of our products.
CarboProbe life cycle analysis
This is an environmental evaluation which
quantifies the impact of a product throughout its
lifecycle, from the extraction of the raw materials
of which it is composed to its disposal at the end of
its life. The key issue is to identify the main sources
of environmental impacts and limit them as far as
possible.

In order to warrant our
we have committed to the following approach:
1. Using materials that are 99%-recyclable
2. Using local production to limit our CO2 foot
print as much as possible (by limiting transport)
3. Reducing energy as far as possible during the
assembly and testing phases
4. Applying strict recycling procedures for all
production processes as well as support
processes (administration, sales, etc.)
Conclusion
Over the entire life cycle of our CarboProbe pro-
ducts, producing component parts from raw
mate-
rials is the phase which has the greatest impact
on the environment. These are the costs of
extracting ore and costs connected with the
conversion of the raw material into products that
can be used to construct our probes (metals,
plastics, etc.).

After recycling, a certificate can be issued to you
which certifies that the product has been comple-

Introduction
Dans le cadre de notre certification ISO 14001,
ECONOX a décidé de rendre sa gamme de sondes à
oxygène

recyclable. Le but de cette dé-
marche est de limiter au maximum notre impact
sur l'environnement en complétant notre certificati-
on ISO 14001 par un volet « recyclage » complet de
nos produits.
Analyse du cycle de vie de nos CarboProbe
Il s'agit ici d'une évaluation environnementale qui
permet de quantifier les impacts d'un produit sur
l'ensemble de son cycle de vie, depuis l'extraction
des matières premières qui le composent jusqu'à
son élimination en fin de vie. L'enjeu majeur est
d'identifier les principales sources d'impacts
environnementales et de les limiter au maximum.

nous avons engagé les démarches suivantes:
1. Utilisation de matériaux avec un taux de recy-
clage supérieur à 99%
2. Fabrication locale pour limiter notre empreinte
CO2 au maximum (en limitant les transports)
3. Réduction au minimum de l'énergie durant les
phases d'assemblage et de test
4. Application des procédures strictes de recyclage
pour tous les processus de fabrication ainsi que
les processus support (administration
Conclusion
Sur l'ensemble de la durée de vie de nos produits
CarboProbe, la phase de fabrication des éléments
à partir de matière première est celle qui a le plus
grand impact sur l'environnement. Il s'agit des coûts
d'extraction des minerais et des coûts liés à la
transformation de la matière première en produits
utilisables pour la construction de nos sondes
(métaux, plastiques, etc..).

Einleitung
Im Rahmen der Zertifizierung nach ISO 14001 hat ECO-
NOX beschlossen, seine Serie der Sauerstoffsonden
so zu gestalten, dass sie zu
Ziel dieser Vorgehensweise ist es, die Auswirkungen
auf die Umwelt durch Ergänzung unserer Zertifizie-
rung nach ISO 14001 mit dem Zusatz vollständiges
« Recycling » unserer Erzeugnisse zu begrenzen.
Analyse des Lebenszyklus unserer CarboProbe
Hierbei handelt es sich um eine Umweltbewertung,
die die Messung der Auswirkungen eines Produkts
auf seinen gesamten Lebenszyklus ab dem Abbau
der Rohstoffe, aus denen es besteht bis hin zu
seiner Entsorgung ermöglicht. Es geht vor allem
darum, die wesentlichen Ursachen der Auswirkun-
gen auf die Umwelt zu erkennen und diese so weit
wie möglich einzugrenzen.

Um das Label
haben wir folgende Schritte eingeleitet:
1. Nutzung von Materialien, die zu mehr als 99%
wiederverwertbar sind
2. Lokale Herstellung, um unseren CO2–Fußab-
druck so weit wie möglich zu minimieren
(durch Einschränkung der Transporte)
3. Bestmögliche Energieeinsparung während der
Montage- und Testphasen
4. Anwendung strengster Recycling-Verfahren für
alle Herstellungsprozesse und Support-Maßnah-
men (Verwaltung, Verkauf, usw.).
Schlussfolgerung
In der gesamten Lebensdauer unserer CarboProbe-
Erzeugnisse wirkt sich die Herstellungsphase der
Bestandteile aus den Rohstoffen am stärksten auf
die Umwelt aus. Es handelt sich um die Kosten für
den Abbau der Mineralien und die Kosten der Umwand-
lung des Rohstoffs in nutzbare Teile für die Fertigung
unserer Sonden (Metalle, Kunststoffe, usw...).
