Cleaning the device
Clean unit immediately after every use. Dried
grass remains are very hard, and are very dif-
ficult to remove.
– Remove grass remains with a brush, and
a plastic scraper if required (do not use
sharp implements).
– Remove deposits on the wheels.
– Wipe the tool with a damp cloth.
– Never clean the unit with water or high-
pressure jet.
Changing the blades
DANGER! Risk of injury! Never
touch the blade on the cutting edge.
Wear gloves at all times when work-
ing with the blade.

Removing
– Release the screw (21).
– Remove the blade (20) carefully.
Installing
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the
device! Ensure the correct installa-
tion direction: the pegs (22) must line
up with the holes in the blade.
– Carefully attach the blade (20).
– Attach the washer (23).
– Tighten the blade using screw (21).
• Permissible tightening torque = 35–
40 Nm
Replacing the air filter

NOTICE! Risk of damage to the
device! The device should never be
operated without an air filter, as this
may cause damage to the engine.

NOTICE! Risk of damage to the
device! Always use original air filters
approved by the manufacturer.
The air filter must always be satu-
rated with oil.
– Stop the motor and remove the spark
plug connector.
– Open the air filter housing (12).
– Remove the air filter.
– Clean all parts of the air filter unit.
– Saturate the new air filter with oil.
– Press out excess oil.
– Insert the new air filter.
– Re-close the air filter housing (12).
Checking the level of motor oil

– Unscrew the motor oil filling screw (15)
and remove.
– Read off the oil level on the scale on the
underside of the motor oil filling screw.
– The oil stand must be placed between [A]
and [B].
Cleaning/replacing spark plugs

WARNING! Danger of injury from
high voltage! Do not touch the spark
plug connector or the spark plug
while the motor is running.
– Remove spark plug connector (13).
– Unscrew the spark plug.
– Check the electrode for discoloration.
Standard colour: Light brown
– Check electrode spacing. Correct spac-
ing: 0.7–0.8 mm
Cleaning the spark plug
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the
device! Only use wire brushes with
brass bristles to clean the spark plug.
Any other bristle type will damage
the electrode!
– Remove rust deposits from the electrode
with a wire brush.
Replacing the spark plug
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the
device! Only screw a spark plug into
place when the engine is cold.
– Insert the cleaned or new spark plug and
tighten by hand.
