In connection with the induction loop
NL-90 from MONACOR the system may also
be used to transmit the audio signal to hear-
ing aids with a "telephone coil".

3.1 Conformity and Approval

Herewith, MONACOR INTERNATIONAL de-
clare that the transmitter ATS-40T is in accor-
dance with the basic requirements and the
other relevant regulations of the directive
1995 / 5 / EG.
The system is licence-free and generally ap-
proved for operation in EU and EFTA coun-
tries.

4 Setting into Operation

4.1 Inserting/replacing batteries

1) Open the cover of the battery compart-
ment (8) by sliding it in the direction of the
arrow.
2) Insert two batteries or NiMH rechargeable
batteries of AA size, as shown in the bat-
tery compartment.
3) Close the cover.

4.2 Rechargeable batteries

If NiMH rechargeable batteries are inserted
in the unit, they may be recharged via the
charging contacts (12) with a charging station
TXA-800PS, TXA-12C or TXA-36C from
MONACOR.
1) Make sure that only rechargeable batter-
ies are placed in the battery compartment.
Non-rechargeable batteries may leak or
explode when trying to recharge them!
2) Place the unit in switched-off condition into
the compartment of the charging station.
3) After recharging, remove the unit from the
charging station.
Further information can be found in the in-
struction manual of the charging station.
4.3 Connecting earphone, head-
phones or induction loop
Connect the supplied earphone (14) with its
connection plug (15) to the 3.5 mm jack (13)
of the receiver. For fixing, place the flexible
part of the earphone around the ear.
Caution: To use another mono earphone,
connect this earphone only via a 3-pole plug
as a 2-pole plug may cause a short circuit and
damage the receiver!
As an alternative, stereo headphones may
be connected to the jack. However, the re-
production will always be monophonic.
Another alternative is to connect the in-
duction loop NL-90 from MONACOR to the
jack. It is put around the neck and transmits
the sound via a magnetic field to hearing aids
with a "telephone coil".

4.4 Connecting the microphone

If required, connect the supplied tie-clip micro-
phone (9) with its plug (10) or the neckband
microphone ECM-16N which is available as
an accessory to the 3.5 mm jack (11) of the
transmitter. The internal microphone (6) is
thus switched off.
Place the windshield on the microphone
and attach the microphone to your body:
Tightly clamp the tie-clip microphone to your
clothes (e. g. at the lapel).
4.5 Fixing
To carry the unit, a fixing facility (7) for a car-
rying loop is on the rear side.
5 Operation
1) To switch on the units, press the button
(5). The operating light (2) lights up and
the display (3) shows the number of the
adjusted transmitting / receiving channel
and the charging status indication for the
(rechargeable) batteries.
