Seat Post Compatibility
The seat post clamping system can affect the structural strength of the saddle.
The type of the clamping system of some types of seat posts can compromise
the strength of the saddle rail, or interfere with the structure, altering its
performance. The use of unsuitable seat posts can cause problems and can be
the cause of accidents to persons and property. Therefore it is not recommended
to use this type of seat post with your Ergon saddle.
Please check the compatibility of your seat post with the indications given in
fig. 1 on the next page. It is advisable to use seat posts having a clamping
system of adequate size, and that cannot exert a cutting action on the saddle
rail. Overtightening the seat post (fig. 2 page 26) could cause breakage of the
saddle rail, and be the cause of accidents.
The seat post clamping system must not have any sharp edges, as this could
reduce the product's useful life or cause early breakage of the saddle (fig. 2 page
26). The saddle rail must be clamped correctly: some clamping systems may
cause damage (fig. 3 page 26).
