Particularly when sanding coats of varnish, sand
in the direction of the grain as the varnish could
melt and smear the surface of the workpiece and
the sanding belt. Therefore, work with dust ex-
traction.
A sanding belt used for sanding metal should not
be used for other materials.
Use only original Bosch sanding accessories.
Store sanding belts only hanging; avoid creasing,
as this makes the belts unusable.
The sanding frame (accessory) allows for uni-
form and controllable removal capacity when sur-
face grinding larger wooden surfaces.

Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
For safe and proper working, always keep
the machine and ventilation slots clean.
Remove adherent sanding dust with a brush.
Cleaning the Dust Passage (see figure B)
From time to time, remove the protection cover
10 and clean the dust passage 11 so that the suc-
tion capacity remains at an optimum level.
Changing the Graphit Plate (Accessory)
(see figure C)
The graphite plate 12 (accessory) is screwed on-
to the guide plate 13 and enables an optimum
sanding pattern.
The graphite plate 12 is subject to wear, depending
on the intensity of usage. To change the graphite
plate 12, remove the sanding belt 2. Unscrew the
graphite plate 12 and replace it. After mounting the
sanding belt, adjust the belt run as described in
section "Changing the Sanding Belt" on page 18.

ing a new 3-pin plug to the 2-wire cable.
The wires in the cable are coloured according to
the following code:

Do not connect the blue or brown wire to the
earth terminal of the plug.
Important: If for any reason the moulded plug is
removed from the cable of this power tool, it
must be disposed of safely.
If the machine should fail despite the care taken
in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair
should be carried out by an after-sales service
centre for Bosch power tools.
In all correspondence and spare parts order,
please always include the 10-digit article number
given on the type plate of the machine.
