2. Maintenance
Please note that electrical tools should only be repaired, ser-
viced and checked by qualified electricians, since repairs car-
ried out improperly can place the user at serious risk (BGV A2).
Check tests have to be carried out according to DIN VDE 0702-1.
After repair the regulations laid down in German Industrial
Standard DIN VDE 0701 Parts 1 / 9.00 must be complied with.
Only use original FEIN spare parts. Please read safety
instructions No. 3 41 30 054 06 1 thoroughly!
The relevant German Industrial Insurers' accident prevention
regulations or equivalent must be complied with when starting
up, using and servicing the machine.
Correct usage of technical tools is as stipulated by the German
Technical Equipment Safety Act.
3. Electrical Function Test
3.1
Small function test
3.1.1
Safety interlock check
With its power switch in the ON position, connect
the machine to the mains.
Machine should not start – However, if it does, the
electronics assembly is defective!
Switch machine OFF, and ON again.
Machine must start now.

4.4.10 Remove the air conducting ring (110) from the motor
4.4.11 Remove screws (530), take off cable with strain relief

Remove the power plug from the mains receptacle!
Remove the mounted tool.
Hood
Loosen screws (610).
Remove hood (600).
Bearing plate
Remove screws (380) and outer bearing (330).
Demount ball bearings (340,360) and rim gear shaft
(350) from the outer bearing.
Take bearing plate (260) off gear housing (200).
Remove washers (320), if required. Demount spur
wheel (270) complete with ball bearing (280), cover
plate (290) and bevel gear (300) from bearing plate
(260).
Note:
Lightly tap on the shaft end – polishing
plate side.
Remove individual parts (see item 4.3.3) by pressing
them off the shaft.
Motor
Remove screws (500) and slide the cover (550) off to
the rear.
Remove the switch rod (520). Pull off the motor lead
connector from the electronics assembly, and remove
the strain relief (30), electronics assembly (40) and
switch (540).
Push the sliding switch (480) off in an upward
direction.
Remove carbon brushes (70) and, if required, carbon
brush assembly (60) – loosen screw (80) to do so.
Remove screws (140) and take out gear housing
(200) together with armature (100).
Dismantle armature (100) from gear housing (200).
Use base plate 6 41 02 067 00 5 to pull off bevel gear
assembly (310).
Pull both grooved ball bearings (50) and (450) from
the shaft.
Take off cover plate (120).

clamping piece (10) and cable (580).
