1.1 Installation rules
• Respect the cabling rules of the system (connection
only in "in-out" mode, not "star" etc . . .)
• Use the double insulation supply . Furthermore is
mandatory, to use the converter 0 288 06;
• For RS-485 connection, use cable BELDEN 9842
(cable at 120ohm);
• Avoid to put signal cables with the power cables;
• To ensure appropriate cable connection on all
devices in the system, use the same colour to
identify and connect the "+" conductor in the
signal pair of all devices .
• Insert a 120ohm resistance at the ends of the
cabling (start and end);
• Connect the screen to the ground in only one point for
each section, and preserve the continuity on the screen
if there are more devices in the same section (1);

• Not exceed the maximum length of 1200m for the
connection (for line longer then 1200m use signal
repeaters available in commerce);
• Not exceed the maximum number of 32 devices
on the same signalling cable (for installation with
more than 32 devices use signal repeaters avail-
able in commerce) .
(1) Section: is the cable included in an enclosure, the
distance between an enclosure and the next one,
and the distance between the supervision PC and
the first enclosure . On the enclosure is important
to assure the continuity if the screen between the
connections .
