Important safety instructions

Devices may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capacity or little experience and/or knowledge if they are
supervised or trained in how to use the equipment safely. After this
they must have understood the resulting risks.
This device shall not be used by children. The device and

its cable must be kept out of the reach of children.
Children must be supervised at all times to ensure
•
that they do not play with the appliance.
The blender should be disconnected from the mains
•
by disconnecting the mains plug:
Before changing the attachments
•
After use
•
If being left unattended
•
If malfunctions occur during use
•
Before cleaning and care.
•
Clean after use all surfaces/parts, which have
•
got in contact with food.
Follow the notes in chapter "Cleaning and care".

If the device cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manu-
•
facturer, its customer service team or another similarly qualified
person to avoid hazards.
Handle the appliance with care. The blender has a sharp blade.

Before use

Read the operating manual carefully. It contains important infor-
mation about the use, safety and maintenance of the appliance.
It should be kept in a safe place and passed on to further users if
appropriate. The appliance should only be used for the intended pur-
pose and in accordance with this user manual. Respect these safety
instructions when using the appliance.

Safety instructions
• Remove packaging material before the first use, including
the plastic cover and the blade protector cover.
• Connect the appliance to an alternating current only,
with voltage in accordance with that shown on the
appliance's type label. The wire and plug must be dry.
• Never disconnect the mains plug from the socket by
the cord or with wet hands.
• The appliance and the connection cable should be
protected from the effects of heat.
• Only switch the blender on once it has been placed in the
food to be blended. Only remove from the food once the
appliance has come to a stop.
• Handle the appliance with care. Wait for the appliance to
come to a stop before changing the attachments. The blender
has a sharp blade.
• If the appliance becomes blocked during use, switch it off
immediately and remove the offending object, for example
a piece of fruit or vegetable which has become stuck.
• Allow boiling liquids to cool down before blending. Caution!
There is a scald hazard when working with hot liquids.
• The connection cable should not be pulled over sharp edges,
wedged or allowed to dangle, and should be protected from
heat and oil.
• The Stick Blender should not be placed on hot surfaces
such as hobs or similar, and should be kept away from
naked flames.
• The Stick Blender is designed for short-time operation. Pause
after 1 minute's use to allow the appliance to cool down.
• Do not touch the blade while the Stick Blender
is plugged in.
• Keep hairs, fingers, clothing, and any accessories or
utensils away from the blade.
• Do not use the Stick Blender for ice crushing, and do not
chop hard foods such as spices, coffee beans to avoid any
damages.
