8. Storing the generating set

Generating sets which remain unused for a long period of time must undergo certain procedures in order to keep
them in good condition. Check that the storage area is not dusty oy humid. Clean the exterior of the generating set and
apply a rustproofing product.
• Close the fuel trap.
• Change the motor oil.
• Remove the spark plug and pour about 15 ml of oil into the cylinder, then refit the spark plug.
• Holding the starter handle correctly, pull it out slowly as far as it will go several times to run the motor and distribute
the oil around the cylinder.
• Clean the generating set, cover it to protect it from dust and store it in a clean and dry place.
