Commissioning

9.1 General Commissioning Notes
NOTE
Siemens recommends leaving the device at the installation site for at least 2 hours
in order to equalize the temperature and avoid moisture and condensation.
The device is designed for use in industrial environment, for installation in standard
relay rooms and compartments so that with proper installation electro-magnetic
compatibility (EMC) is ensured.
WARNING
Warning against use in living quarters; the device is not suitable for use in living
quarters as defined in the standard EN 61000-6-4.
Non-observance can result in death or severe injury.
✧ Never use the device in living quarters.
Siemens recommends:
• Equip contactors and relays operating within the same cabinet or on the same
relay panel with digital protection equipment with suitable quenching equip-
ment.
• If the construction allows it, install the Injection Unit 7XT71 and the Multifunc-
tional Machine Protection 7UM62 in the same control cabinet or close to each
other.
• Use shielded connection cables with a maximum length of 2 m to connect the
Injection Unit 7XT71 and the Multifunctional Machine Protection 7UM62.
