Blackboard lighting (Ch 3).
1-channel on/off control is switched on and off via
Blackboard). The light will now remain on as long as the motion
sensor detects activity.
Once the motion sensor does not detect activity within the detection
area, after a preset period the light switches off automatically.
When the general lighting is switched off via
the blackboard light is also switched off.
Optional connection:
Clock blackout: Time switch (terminal ØB2-ØB11).
Energy max.: Energy saving contact (terminal ØB2-ØB12).
App. 14.01 e.g. Production premises
3-channel daylight control, manual on/off via button, automatic
off via external
(Time switch).
Function description:
3-channel daylight control is switched on and off via a button.
The light will now be daylight-controlled in 3 channels based on the
parameters set. As daylight incidence increases, the light dims in the
premises so that the minimum light level set as required is obtained.
The light is switched off automatically when a suffi cient light level
has been achieved in the room, or via external
Option for manual on/off and dimming via a 4-button switch I/O,
and
.
Optional connection:
Energy max.: Energy saving contact (terminal ØB2-ØB12).
Connection of 1-10 V RCL dimmer:
When connecting dimmable ohmic-, inductive- or capacitive-
connected light sources, they can be adjusted via a 1-10 V RCL
dimmer (see model type under Accessories).
See connection drawing Fig. 1 as well as M&B instructions for the
relevant 1-10 V RCL dimmers.
Installation
Prior to fi rst start-up of Luxstat Control
Before powering up, the light sensor must be correctly positioned
and fi tted.
For connections, see pages 5-6.
1) Perform power-up.
2) Accept the Sensor value in the display.
3) The Luxstat Control will start up.
4) The Luxstat Control is operational.

Set-up/commissioning
Factory settings:
Application:
10.01 automatic on/off via motion sensor
Lux indoors:
Lx ind1 = 200 lux, Lx ind2 = 160 lux, Lx ind3 = 100 lux
Setpoint:
Setp1 = 300 lux, Setp2 = 300 lux, Setp3 = 300 lux
Off delay:
10 minutes
Vout min:
Vout min1 = 0.0 V, Vout min2 = 0.0 V, Vout min3 = 0.0 V
Vout max:
Vout max1 = 10.0 V, Vout max2 = 10.0 V, Vout max3 = 10.0 V
Loadshed:
Loadshed1 = 5.0 V, Loadshed2 = 5.0 V, Loadshed3 = 5.0 V
The Luxstat Control 78-050 can be installed and operated using
the factory settings.
However, for optimum control it is recommended that you adjust
the settings for the Luxstat Control 78-050 to the premises (light
conditions) in question via the menu and display on the Luxstat
Control 78-050.
Commissioning should be performed on a day when there is a
reasonable level of light, but when the premises are not in direct
sunlight.
The following would be a good starting point for the
commissioning process:
Lux level indoors Lx ind1, Lx ind2, Lx ind3, measured with a
luxmeter as being above 50 lux and below 1000 lux.
1. Decide what light level and setpoint are required in the
premises in the individual zones: Setp1, Sept2, Sept3 (noted
on the design diagram).
2. Switch off the light and measure the light level at table height
using a luxmeter in the individual zones: Lx ind1, Lx ind2, Lx
ind3 (noted on the design diagram).
3. Switch on the power on the Luxstat Control 78-050, and wait
for power-up.
The Luxstat Controller 78-050 must be correctly connected
to a light sensor (light level noted on design diagram).
4. Select the correct application and the number of channels (Ch).
5. Go to the Daylight Factor menu and set the parameters:
Range – with a light sensor positioned indoors on a
ceiling near a window, the factory setting of 30-3K lux is
recommended, and with a light sensor positioned indoors in
a skylight, 300-30K lux is recommended. Remember that the
setting on the Luxstat and the light sensor must indicate the
same range.
Lx ind – Lx ind1, Lx ind2, Lx ind3, enter the measured lux
values, see point 2.
Sensor – press ADJ – current lux value read in menu; if the
read value is greater than the highest lux value in the
Lx ind1, Lx ind2, Lx ind3 menu, press Save.
This is how the Luxstat 78-050 Controller automatically
calculates the parameters for optimum regulation of light for
the premises in question.
6. Complete the documentation for the Luxstat Control 78-050,
entering the parameters that have been set.
