The inflation and the deflation system in the SCUBAPRO jackets is simple and safe.
Deflation can be done pneumatically as well as orally. Both systems function
independently of one another. The jacket is emptied either by the quick stop on the
right shoulder or by pressing the outlet button on the inflator mouthpiece. The third
option for emptying the jacket consists of letting the air out via the quick stop valve (pull
on the corrugated hose).
USING THE INFLATOR
Connect the low pressure hose of the inflator to the low pressure (LP) outlet of the first
stage of your regulator. The low pressure hose is connected to the inflator by means of
a quick coupling. The connection is established or broken by means of the movement
of the coupling ring. Check by carefully pulling, to see if the connection is tight. The
connection is also established and broken under pressure.
After the connection is broken under pressure, a check valve prevents the air from
escaping out of the jacket and out of the low pressure hose.
Now, press the inlet button briefly to allow air to flow into the jacket.
Repeat until you have the desired amount of air in the jacket.
CAUTION:
Let your specialized retailer connect the low pressure hose to the first stage of your
regulator. Don't connect a high pressure hose to the jacket. The excessive air pressure
will lead to the destruction of the jacket and can cause injuries. The inflator works with
low pressure (8 – 12 bar, identified at the first stage LP). Read the user manual
carefully with respect to connecting the inflator hose properly.
INFLATING THE JACKET ORALLY:
Put the mouthpiece to your lips, press the blow-off button and, at the same time, blow
the air from your lungs through your mouth.
mouthpiece, release the blow-off button in order to prevent air from escaping from the
jacket. Repeat this process until there is sufficient air in the jacket. Finally, secure the
corrugated hose with the Velcro strip. This manual does not necessarily contain all
options associated with oral inflation of the jacket.
WARNING: To inflate the jacket underwater, you must be specially trained and
have mastered the routine. Practice must be carried out under the supervision of a
diving instructor.
EMPTYING THE JACKET BY MEANS OF THE MOUTHPIECE:
The corrugated hose must be held facing up, so that air can escape and the outlet
button must be pressed (Fig. 3).
