Adjusting the children's jacket to different body sizes
The SCUBAPRO REBEL Jacket is currently the only jacket on the market that "grows"
with your child. Two different buckles in the chest area make this possible. The upper
buckle is for jacket size S, the lower buckle is for jacket size M. The buckles which are
not in use can be put away in the cloth bags provided for the purpose. If necessary,
the abdominal belt can also be changed quickly and easily. This item is available from
your SCUBAPRO retailer.
Recommended sizes:
Body size: 120 – 140 cm – Size S
Body size: 140 – 160 cm – Size M
THE QUICK DISCARD SYSTEM (OPTIONAL)
The Rebel provides discardable weight pockets as an option. In this way, a pre-
determined amount of lead can be discarded in an emergency. In most cases, a
weight-belt can be done without altogether.
children as they don't yet have a definitive waist and the weight-belt thus slips very
easily. The 2nd important feature is that in this way, the lead is distributed better
anatomically and overtaxing of the back is prevented. The front pocket flap is folded
inward and now the pocket with the discardable weight can be fastened to the Velcro
strip.
WARNING If your child uses the Rebel jacket with the optional weight pockets, it is
absolutely necessary to practise discarding the weight pockets beforehand in a
swimming pool or in shallow water. Your child must be absolutely sure of how to
discard the lead weight in the event of an emergency, before he/she undertakes his/her
first dive with the integrated weight pockets.
You have two fastening options:
a) The front pocket flap is folded inward and the weight pocket is inserted with the
smooth side facing forward. Now, the discardable weight pocket can be fastened to
the outer Velcro strip of the jacket pocket. This method is particularly suitable for
smaller, weaker children, as there is no great use of strength required to discard the
weight pocket in the event of an emergency.
Open the front pocket flap, the weight pocket is inserted with the smooth side facing
forward, move the weight pocket flap and attach to the Velcro, now move the pocket
flap and attach the pull strap to the outer Velcro of the jacket pocket. This method is
particularly suitable for strong children, if a larger amount of lead is to be used.
This is especially accommodating for
