7. Cleaning and maintenance
• The conveyor belt must always be cleaned after use and any dirt, stones or foreign objects
removed.
• If the belt has been used to transport concrete or mortar, it must be thoroughly cleaned with
plenty of water immediately after use.
• When using a high-pressure cleaner, do not aim it straight at or into the conveyor belt's control
box.
• Remember to disconnect all electrical installations before cleaning commences.
• Dismantle the feed box, if applicable.
8. Transport and lifts
The conveyor belt's side profile is equipped with holes for forklift trucks (CU3300, CU4500, CU6000,
CCU4500 and CCU6000).
9. Belt replacement
1. Remember to disconnect the belt from the power supply before commencing replacement.
2. Important: you should only work at the drum (pos. 17) end of the conveyor belt.
3. Loosen the two bolts on the mounting brackets (pos. 4) and the adjustment bolt on the insert
plate (pos. 2).
4. Place the conveyor belt on its side.
5. Remove the mounting brackets (pos. 3).
6. Remove the insert plate (pos. 1) on the right hand side.
7. Remove the drum (pos. 17).
8. After removing the drum (pos. 17), pull the belt as far as possible towards the motor end.
9. The belt can now be pulled over the side profile and dismantled.
10. Before the new belt is mounted, the bottom plates must be checked for sharp edges, cracks and
fissures.
The replacement belt is mounted in the reverse order (points 10 to 1) and subsequently adjusted as
described under point 10.

10. Belt adjustment
Correct adjustment and centring of the conveyor belt is important for correct functioning and
extends the belt's useful life. Therefore, the following instructions regarding adjustment of the belt
must always be adhered to:
1. Loosen both bolts on the mounting brackets (pos. 3 and 4, 5 and 8).
2. Tightening and centering of the belt are achieved by adjusting the through-going bolts in
the insert plate (pos. 1 and 2, 6 and 7).
3. The belt must be centered on both the motor (pos. 18) and the drum (pos. 17). Leave the
belt to run for a couple of minutes before making the final adjustment.
4. Tighten both bolts on the mounting brackets (pos. 3 and 4, 5 and 8).
11. Internal fuse
All CU and CCU units are equipped with a fuse to protect the internal control unit. In the event of er-
rors or overloading, the fuse in the internal control unit will protect critical internal components (use
max FIN 160 mA when replacing fuses). The conveyor belt's 240/110 (UK) volt power supply must
always be protected by an HPFI relay and max 16 Amp.
