Water Method
Suggested Manometer Set-Up
NOTES:
▪
Use a solid water column manometer that measures in mmHg.
An air-over-water manometer is not acceptable. Purge all the air
bubbles from the system.
▪
The Pressure Monitor should be checked with fluid in the
disposable and not with air.
▪
Fill the manometer with distilled water, which is free of
contaminants. Do not use saline solution.
1. Install a fresh battery. See the Battery Replacement section.
2. Prepare the Pressure Monitor with a disposable Quick Pressure
Monitor Set. Follow steps 1 through 8 in the Quick Pressure
Monitor Set section, but substitute distilled water for saline in the
syringe.
3. Set the Pressure Monitor flat on the table next to the manometer.
4. Zero the unit, even if the display already reads "00."
5. Insert the needle into the manometer so that the distal end of the
needle is level with the zero point on the manometer.
6. Compare the readings on the manometer and on the Pressure
Monitor display at 25 mmHg, 50 mmHg, and 75 mmHg. The
Pressure Monitor readings must be +/- 3.4 mmHg of the
manometer readings.
NOTE: Keep the Pressure Monitor level. Tilting the unit can result in
deviations in readings.
7. If the unit fails, repeat the procedure with another disposable
Quick Pressure Monitor Set.
8. If recalibration is necessary, return the Pressure Monitor to C2Dx.
Air Method
1. Install a fresh battery. See the Battery Replacement section.
2. Turn the unit on. "_ _" is displayed for five seconds and then
disappears. The device is now ready for use. If "_ _" is displayed
continuously, see the Troubleshooting section.
3. Zero the unit, even if the display already reads "00."
4. Attach a 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) silicone tube to the transducer port
under the clear lid of the monitor. Do not use a disposable
diaphragm.

5. Connect the tubing to a calibrated electronic calibration unit or to
a pressure calibrating unit.
6. The following readings should be taken:
CALIBRATION UNIT
25 mmHg
50 mmHg
75 mmHg
7. If the unit fails, repeat the procedure.
8. If recalibration is necessary, return the Pressure Monitor to C2Dx.
