Dualtech motion sensor PIR +US 350-20110 / 350-20111
Sensor base for surface mounting 390-20110
Read the complete manual before attempting installation and
activating the system.
1. DESCRIPTION
The dualtech motion sensor 180° (350-20110) (fig.1a) and 360° (350-20111)
(fig.1b) is an intelligent motion sensor that makes use of two technologies:
Passive Infra Red (PIR) and Ultrasonic (US) for an utmost precise detection
(2-3cm). The dualtech motion sensor has 3 possible outputs:
- NPN output (grey) responds to movement + light
- NPN output (blue) responds to movement
- potentialfree contact (N.O. or N.C.) responds to movement
The dualtech motion sensor operates at 24V DC and can be used in
combination with power supply 360-37000 or 360-47000 (230V~/24V
DC), provided with a relay for switching the load.
The motion sensor can be mounted on a false/fitted ceiling either directly
or by means of a sensor base (390-20110) (fig.1c) enabling the cables
to be inserted sidelong.
Areas of application: office rooms, classrooms, conference rooms, exposi-
tion rooms, restaurants.
2. INSTALLATION
2.1. Mounting instructions
- These products are only suitable for indoor use.
- Make sure the installation is not connected to the mains when mounting
the sensor!
- Take into account the location of airco or heating installations when mount-
ing the sensor. The sensor(s) has/have to be mounted at least 1m away
from ventilation holes to avoid interference of air currents (fig.2). These
limit the ultrasonic range and can generate false detection signals.
By following the steps below, you can test the interference of air cur-
rents:
1. Make sure the airco ventilator is activated.
2. Determine the place where you wish to mount the sensor.
3. Moisten your index finger and place him on that spot on the ceiling.
4. If you can feel the air current with your finger, you have to mount the
sensor further away from the ventilation hole.
EN
2.2. Mounting without sensor base
The sensor has to be mounted in acoustic ceiling plates (false ceilings) or
on a flush mounting box for fitted ceilings. The sensor has to be mounted
on the ceiling by following one of the methods below:
a) directly in the false ceiling by means of the supplied long screws
(fig.3a);
b) by means of the supplied cable inlet, cover ring and nut.
Insert the sensor cables through the cable inlet and click the inlet in
the screw cover. Insert the inlet through a precise opening in the false
ceiling and screw down the whole by means of the cover ring and nut
(at the other side of the false ceiling) (fig.3b).
c) Directly in a flush mounting box in a fitted or false ceiling. The openings
of the screw cover match the screw inputs of a standard flush mounting
box (fig.3c).
Use the arrow on the screw cover to correctly aim the sensor (fig.3d). Make
sure this arrow matches one of the arrows on the sensor, so sensor and cover
interlock. Rotate the sensor until you hear the mechanism click, Indicating
that the sensor is fixed. Now aim the sensor according to your wishes.
2.3. Mounting with sensor base
Use the sensor base if you are mounting the sensor on a fitted ceiling
(without flush mounting box). The sensor base enables to use a sidelong
cable inlet.
Mounting the sensor base (fig.4a)
If you mount the sensor on a fitted ceiling (without flush mounting box), fix
the sensor base on the ceiling by using 2 screws. Mount the sensor base
in such a way, that the break out opening perfectly matches the provided
cable input channels (fig.4a).
Mounting the sensor on the sensor plate (fig.4b)
Remove the screw cover from the sensor. Insert the sensor cables via the
central opening in the sensor plate. Make sure the arrows on the sensor
plate match the arrows on the sensor. Push the sensor on the sensor plate
and turn counterclockwise (45°) until you hear a click.
Mounting the sensor and sensor plate on the sensor base (fig.4c)
Insert the sensor cables through the cable inlet opening and through the
correct side opening of the sensor base (in case a sidelong cable inlet
is used). Place the sensor directly below the cable inlet opening and
turn ±10° in one direction. The sensor then bolts itself by means of the
internal steel grip.
