Safety instructions

Safe operation is only guaranteed if these Operating Instructions have been read and the safety
instructions have been observed.
1.1

Designated use

The ASP station 2000 peristaltic is a stationary sampler for liquid media. The samples are taken
discontinuously using the peristaltic principle, distributed to sampling containers and stored cooled.
The manufacturer does not accept liability for damage caused by improper or non-designated use.
The device can cause danger if used improperly or other than intended. If it is obvious that safe
operation is no longer possible (e.g. visible damage), please take the device immediately out of
service. Secure the device against unintentional start-up.

1.2

Installation, commissioning and operation

This device has been constructed to state-of-the-art technology and meets all applicable standards
and EU Directives. However, if the device is used improperly or for anything other than the
intended use, it can present an application-related danger.
The installation, electrical connection, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the device
may only be carried out by properly trained technical personnel. Technical personnel must have
read and understood these Operating Instructions and must adhere to them. The device may only
be operated by staff trained to do so. Before connecting the device, ensure that the power supply
corresponds to the value specified on the nameplate. Before switching on the system, again check
that all connections are correct.
Warning!
• The device may only be opened by E+H Service! If faults cannot be eliminated, the device must
be taken out of service and protected against unintentional start-up.
• If the housing or housing parts (e.g. controller) are damaged, the device must be taken out of
service immediately and protected against unintentional start-up.
1.3

Operational safety

Hazardous areas
The standard version of the ASP station 2000 peristaltic (RPS24-) is not suitable for mounting in Ex
areas.
Repairs
Repairs that are not described in these Operating Instructions may only be carried out directly at the
manufacturer's or by the Service department.
Technical improvement
The manufacturer reserves the right to adapt technical details to the most up-to-date technical
developments without any special announcement. Contact your local Sales Centre for information
about the current state of and possible extensions to the Operating Instructions.
1.4

Return

You should take the following measures before sending the device back to Endress+Hauser, for
example for repair:
• Always enclose a fully-completed "Dangerous Goods Sheet" with the device. Only then can
Endress+Hauser transport, test or repair a returned device.
• If necessary, include special handling regulations with the returned product, e.g. a safety
datasheet in accordance with EN 91/155/EEC.
