ULTRASONIC HUMIDIFIERS AND WATER QUALITY
Ultrasonic humidifiers operate on the principle of high frequency oscillation of water
molecules until they are broken into ultra-fine particles (1-5µm).This is done by an
oscillator (sometimes called an atomizer, nebulizer or transducer) inside the
humidifier. The fine mist created is then dispersed into the air by a fan.
With an ultrasonic humidifier, the water itself is atomized, and any minerals or debris
in the water will be dispersed into the air. We strongly recommend the use of a
demineralization filter whenever using an ultrasonic humidifier. Softened water is not
recommended for use in ultrasonic humidifiers, as salt and other sediments in the
water may create a fine white dust that could be inhaled. Use distilled or purified later
to reduce contaminants being released into the air
Your Aurora Ultrasonic Humidifier has a high quality demineralization cartridge
installed that will last 500 hours. Replacements cartridges (AU5003PK) are available
at www.aircareproducts.com or by calling 1.800.547.3888. See Page 8 for complete
list of parts and accessories.
FILLING UNIT WITH WATER
CAUTIONS: When filling, do not allow
water to spill onto controls. Never add
essential oils in the water. It can damage
the plastic seals and cause leaks.
Do not use the vapor outlet on the water
tank as a handle. It is not designed to
support the water tank when full. Always
hold the full water tank in two hands.
Once the water tank is filled and placed
on the base, do not attempt to move the
humidifier. Leakage will occur.
Remove and set aside vapor nozzle.

Lift water tank off base and turn it upside

down.
Remove the water cap (with

demineralization cartridge attached.)
Holding the tank carefully in two hands,

fill the water tank with fresh cool water.
Do not fill tank to the brim, the cartridge
top will displace some water.
Wipe any spilled water from exterior of

tank and screw water cap back onto
tank. Verify cap is tightly installed back
onto water tank before replacing it onto
base.
NOTE: The water tank and base only go
together one way: Align the base and tank,
by lining up the logo on the tank with the
center of the knob on the base.
Replace the water tank by carefully aligning the water tank and base.
