INSPECTION AND RETIREMENT
Inspect your Camalot C3 for signs of damage and wear before and after each
use and to ensure that they have smooth trigger action, easy cam retraction
and expansion and independent cam motion.
Retire a Camalot C3 immediately if:
The cams have been damaged in a fall.
The cams are bent, chipped, deformed or excessively worn.
The wire loop is frayed, kinked or damaged.
The stem cables are frayed, kinked or damaged in any way.
The springs are weak or damaged.
The cam is worn to the point that the retractor wire becomes visible
through the cam surface.
If a Camalot C3 has been involved in a severe fall, but it is not obviously
damaged, it still may be ready for retirement. If you have any doubts about
the reliability of your Camalot C3, retire it and get a new one.
Anytime you retire a piece of gear, destroy it to prevent future use.
ADOPTING CAMALOT C3s
We strongly discourage acquiring secondhand equipment. In order to fully
trust your gear, you must know its history of use.
