The brewing process
∙ The light ring, the main indicator light
are lit.
∙ The water in the reservoir is brought to the boil. With the
water reservoir filled to its maximum capacity, it will take
about 5 minutes to heat the water.
∙ Once the perfect brewing temperature has been
reached the valve inside the water reservoir opens and
the brewing cycle begins.
∙ The 'click' sound indicates that the valve opens and
closes for a perfect brewing result.
∙ The filtered coffee starts flowing into the glass jug.
∙ Once the water has passed through, the light ring lights
up briefly, and the hot-plate is activated for around 35
minutes. The unit switches off automatically afterwards.
∙ To interrupt the brewing cycle, press the rotary control
again to turn the appliance off.
Hint: When preparing less than 8 cups, the glass jug can
be removed and the appliance switched off as soon as
brewing is complete, i.e. when no more coffee comes
out (see Stand-by-mode & switching off).
After the brewing cycle
∙ Remove the glass jug from the unit. The non-drip valve
of the filter holder will close and prevent coffee from

onto the hotplate.

is complete. However, it may be turned off by pressing

Cable storage
The cable storage space serves for storing the cable.
The recess at the bottom facilitates limiting the length of the
power cord.
Cleaning and care
∙ Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected
from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
∙ For safety reasons the coffee maker should not be
treated with water or liquids and should never be
immersed.
∙ Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners.
After each use:
∙ Clean the filter system and glass jug:
To remove the coffee grounds, open the swing-out
filter, take off the lid and lift out the filter insert. Take out
the paper filter with the coffee grounds; as a natural
substance, the coffee grounds may be composted.
The glass jug, its lid, the filter lid and the filter insert may
be cleaned in hot soapy water or in the dishwasher.
∙ The jug lid can be taken off for easy cleaning.
∙ The individual parts should be thoroughly dried and then
re-fitted to the unit.
If required:
∙ Wipe the outer surfaces using a clean damp cloth; dry
thoroughly afterwards.
∙ Wipe the inside of the reservoir with a clean damp cloth.
To prevent the outlet-valve of the water reservoir from
getting clogged, use a non-fluffy cloth to clean the water
reservoir and the glass jug.
