6) Be sure that the instruction booklet is not
left in the package and lost.
The packaging materials (plastic bags,
expanded polystyrene, wood, cardboard,
nails, etc.) represent a safety hazard and
consequently must not be left within the
reach of children. Collect and keep for further
transportation or long-term storage (see
chapter 9).
Before connecting the appliance, check that
the rating plate data correspond to those of
the existing electrical system.
The washing machine must only ever be
used for the purposes it was explicitly
designed for.
5. GETTING THE APPLIANCE
STARTED
5.1 POSITIONING REQUIREMENTS
This washing machine demands no
positioning requirement but a flat, level and
sturdy surface. Align by the use of a spirit
level.
For servicing purposes, it is advisable to
leave at least 500mm between the rear face
of the machine and the wall behind.
Besides, when machines are installed in a
line, leaving at least 30mm between one
machine and the next is recommended.
Provide for a floor drain at an elevation
below the machine drain, that can be
connected to the washing machine using the
supplied elbow fitting.
Caution! Repeat levelling after moving
the machine.
5.2 ALLOWABLE ROOM
CONDITIONS FOR PROPER
MACHINE SERVICE
Let these conditions be known to machine
users.
- TYPE OF ROOM: CLOSED
- MINIMUM TEMPERATURE: 10
(Caution: When ambient temperature is
below 10°C, electronic parts may work
irregularly)
-MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE: 40
-RELATIVE HUMIDITY: 75% H.R.
-LIGHTING: 100 LUX (valid for Italy; as
for other national provisions regarding
lighting in working premises, consult the
relevant national codes).
5.3 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The washing machine must be installed by
professionally qualified personnel, in
accordance with the instructions provided
by the manufacturer and with local
regulations. Incorrect installation may cause
harm to persons, animals or property. The
manufacturer disclaims all responsibility for
any such damage.
Make sure that power supply voltage
corresponds to the values appearing on the
rating plate of the washing machine. Consider
also that the maximum allowable power
voltage variation is ±10%.
IMPORTANT:
MACHINE MUST BE PROPERLY
EARTHED.
To this purpose, the terminal block is fitted
with a specific contact, which must be
connected according to the regulations in
force. The manufacturer assumes no
responsibility for any damage resulting from
nonobservance of this accident prevention
principle.
Ahead of the washing machine there must be
an automatic multipolar cutoff switch with
contacts spacing at least 3mm, which must
be calibrated according to the maximum
rated input (see rating plate and table below):

Place a 20 mm cable duct (outer diameter)
between the cutoff switch and the machine
electric power inlet. Being this fitted with a
clamp, after inserting the stiff duct it will be
necessary to fasten the bolts from inside the
machine. When the cable has been inserted,
secure the cable clamp from inside the
machine.
5.4 WATER CONNECTION
Washing machines are fitted with a hot-
water inlet (maximum temperature 60°C)
and two cold water inlets, hard and soft
respectively. All three inlets are 3/4". Models
50-63 are equipped with two hard water
inlets instead of one, both of which are 3/4".
The pressure of incoming water must be
between 0,5 and 5 bar (0,05 and 0,5 MPa).
Provide for wall connections considering
that the distance from the machine must not
exceed the length of the pipes supplied.
°
C
If hot water is not available, provide for a "T"
connection on the soft water tap and connect
the hot water inlet to the cold water supply.
All three inlets (or four if this should be
°
C
the case) must be supplied water.
If a hot water tank should not be available,
consider
the
requirements, which are necessary for the
machine to perform an entire 60° cycle
without prewash and with an ideal laundry
load.

Caution!
When the connection is finished make
sure that the pipes are not crushed or
blocked.
5.5 STEAM CONNECTION
(steam-heated machines only)
The washing machine is fitted with a 3/4"
steam inlet. The incoming steam pressure
must be between 1 and 6 bar (0.05 and 0.6
MPa). The recommended pressure for best
machine performance is between 4 and 6
bar. If doubts should arise, read the rating
plate data. Steam is intended as saturated
and dry.
The water in the tub can be heated either
directly or indirectly. In the latter instance, a
coupling for the recovery of condensed water
will have to be provided for (diameter 3/4").
If the machine is subjected to ISPESL
inspection, keep all ISPESL documents in
the room where the washing machine is
lodged.
When the connection is finished ensure that
the pipe is not crushed or blocked.
5.6 DRAIN CONNECTION
Make certain that the distance between the
machine drain outlet and the floor drain is
not longer than the drain elbow supplied.
Water is drained through a motor-driven
valve that is open (by gravity) when the
machine is not supplied with electricity.
Attention!
Therefore, the floor drain must always be
lower than the machine drain outlet. The
diameter of the floor drain must never be
smaller than that of the supplied hose.

Mod. 26/33
160 litres/min.
Mod. 50/63
160 litres/min.
The draining pipe must be able to resist a
temperature of 90°C.
Install a trap between the hose supplied and
the drain.
Check that the hose is not crushed or blocked.
5.7 AIR BREAK
The washing machine is equipped with an air-
break device to stop wastewater from flowing
back into the drinkable water system in the
event of a depression. This device has a rear
outlet that may liberate innocuous steam during
heating. Do not close or couple the air-break
outlet.
THE GUARANTEE DOES NOT COVER
DAMAGE CAUSED BY INCORRECT
INSTALLATION.
