IV.7 Start-up
Fill the water heater by opening the inlet tap of the safety assembly. Open the hot water tap to bleed the
accumulated air cushion in the water heater. As soon as the water flows from the hot water tap, close this tap
and check that the base joint is tight (repeat the operation a second time).
Switch on the device.
WARNING The device must never be switched on when it is empty, as this could damage the electrical
components.
A drop by drop dripping from the safety assembly is normal. It is caused by the dilatation of the water during
the heating period.
Never seal the opening of the safety assembly.
After 24 hours of operation, check again that the base joint and connections are tight. If need be, retighten the
bolts of the base or the connections.
It is recommended not to set the thermostat at the maximum position. A maximum temperature of 60°C is
recommended to reduce scaling.
V . PROFESSIONAL TECH
PROfessional TECH, an exclusive solution, is an electronic protection system against corrosion to ensure the
maximum longevity of your water heater's tank, under the most extreme water conditions.
The electronic circuit makes it possible to create a potential difference between the tank and the titanium
electrode, so as to guarantee the maximum protection of the tank and to prevent corrosion.
For the protection system to function properly, IT MUST BECONNECTED TO 230 V AT ALL TIMES, even if the
hot water preparing unit is stopped.
Electrical water heaters designed for night supply (exclusive or two-time – reduced preferential rate) are
equipped with an Ni-Mh accumulator which is charged every night and protects thus the tank during the day!
The electronic circuit is connected, in addition to the 230 V network, also to the titanium protection electrode
and the tank to be protected as shown (Fig.13).
When the protection is functioning properly , the green indicator lamp is on continuously, indicating the presence
of sufficient voltage on the circuit terminals. The Protech (anti-corrosion) system cannot remain without
electrical power supply for more than 48 hours.
In the event of a connection on the two-time network (only for models with battery), the green LED lights very
weekly for the first 48 hours. This is normal and is due to the charging state of the battery. Check the light
indicator after 48 hours of operation; the green LED is lit normally.
In case of failure, the red light indicator indicates that the electrode has short-circuited with the tank, that one
of the wires (tank or electrode) is detached, or that there is no water in the tank.
Your water heater will therefore be properly protected if the green indicator lamp is on and the red lamp
is off. Otherwise, contact your installer.
Electrical connection, see Fig.13
• Use without accumulator: continuous power supply with or without electrical resistor (Fig. 13-1)
• Use with accumulator: night supply (exclusive – two-time – reduced preferential rate) Fig. 13-2.
• Use without accumulator on the two-time network: It is possible, if one wishes, to do without the accumulator
(and the need to have it replaced on a regular basis) and to feed the electronic circuit continuously be a 230
V power supply line separate from that of the heating circuit (Fig. 13-3).
An accumulator does not have an unlimited life, and it is normal that it should be replaced after one year. The
accumulator is replaced by simply unplugging the pressure connector and replacing the old accumulator by a
new, rechargeable Mi-Mh accumulator of 9 volts, 150 mAh minimum.
To protect the tank, it is imperative to replace a defective accumulator; otherwise, the guarantee will be
cancelled.
Heating reservoir without electric resistor.
For safety purposes, this water heater is equipped with a heating interruption system if the tank is not properly
protected against corrosion.
Connect the 230 V power supply continuously to the 230 V terminals of the electronic anode.
Connect the electric circuit of the pump on the "normally closed" contacts, using the 1 – C terminals of the
