III. WARNINGS FOR THE USER AND INSTALLER
Before installing the device, read carefully the instructions in this booklet.
Failure to follow them may deprive you of the cover of the guarantee.
1. The buyer shall be responsible for the installation of the water heater.
The start-up, maintenance and repair operations can be carried out only by a qualified professional, who
must comply with the national standards in force.
All regulations on water heaters must be observed.
2. The user shall be responsible for the recycling at the end of the device's life.
3. Environmental protection.
The packaging protects your water heater against damages during transport. We use materials selected
especially for environmental protection purposes. You are requested to bring these materials to your nearest
recycling of waste collection centre.
Some devices are equipped with an electric accumulator. A dangerous material for the environment, the
accumulator must be removed from the device before the latter is discarded and must be disposed of in a
secure manner. This accumulator must be reformed after the electric current is switched off and unplugged
from the pressure connector of the electronic circuit located under the protection cover of the electric
elements.
4. The manufacturer declines all responsibility for any damage caused by an installation which is not carried
out in accordance with the rules of the trade and in non-compliance with the user's instructions.
5. The electrical connection must be carried out in accordance with the instructions in the "electrical
connection" section below.
6. To avoid any and all risks of burns, do not exceed, using appropriate mixer taps, a temperature higher than
50°C at the drawing points. To avoid bacteriological proliferation risks: the thermostat must be set at a
minimum of 60°C.
7. If the user is away from an extended period (beyond one month), close the water and power supply circuits
of the water heater and empty the device.
8. All interventions (installation, start-up, maintenance, repair) must be carried out by a professional.
IV. RECOMMANDATIONS FOR THE INSTALLER
IV.1 General
To avoid heat loss, it is recommended to place the water heater as close as possible to hot water drawing points.
The device and its safety assembly (not supplied by the water heater manufacturer) must necessarily be
installed in a room protected from frost.
To allow maintenance operations, it is imperative to provide free space of ± 50 cm in front of the plastic cover
that gives access to the electrical components.
IV.2 Definitions
Authorised installation areas for water heaters (Fig.1).
Shell volume: The shell volume is the volume outside the bathtub or the shower basin and is limited by a vertical
cylindrical surface limited to the bathtub or the shower basin, and by a horizontal plane situated 2.25 m from the
bottom of the bathtub or the shower basin.
Protection volume : The protection volume is the volume accessible to the touch of a person in the bathtub or
the shower basin, outside the shell volume. It is limited by the vertical cylindrical surface 0.60 m from the edge
of the bathtub or shower basin, and is limited by a horizontal plane 2.25 m above the bottom of the bathtub or
the shower basin. For France, the distance of 0.60 m is extended to 1 m.
IV.3 Installation area
Fixed water heaters supplied with low voltage are admitted in the shell volume if they provide a protection
degree of at least IP 25. (IP 24 for France).

Only fixed water heaters with a minimum protection degree of IP 24 are admitted in the protection volume.

Installation in the attic: provide a retention tray for draining water.
