DISMANTLING INSTRUCTIONS

ATTENTION: instructions refer to the most complicated version the NT-RD and NT-RC.
a) for the AP-D, AP-M and AP-C version, do not consider points 5, 6, 10;
b) for the AP-RD, and AP-RC version, do not consider points 5, 6;
c) for the NT-D, NT-M and NT-C version, do not consider point 10;
1) Disassemble the top jaws 4 or 7 or 8 from the master jaw 3 or 5;
2) Disassemble the eventual chuck adapter;
3) Unscrew bolts 30 and 31 and disassemble the master jaws covers 9;
4) Unscrew and take out the central flange 12 and the plugs 16 (NT... version) or
the screws 37 (AP... version);
5) Bring the central wedge and consequently the master jaws, roughtly to a middle
stroke position in order to have the centrifugal force lever 11 parallel to the
chuck axis;
6) Remove the centrifugal force lever11 using a screw as an extractor;
7) Remove from the body 1 the counter centrifugal force masses 13 and the
central wedge 2;
8) Remove the master jaws 3 or 5;
9) Remove the seal 22;
10) Disassemble the inclined T-nut 14 and the quick change screw 15 from the
master jaws after removing the locking pin 20;
11) Usually, it is not necessary to remove the plate 19, just clean it carefully.
If the plate is no more in its proper seat, follow the instructions hereunder:
- reassemble the unit T-nut+screw in the master jaw,
- insert the top jaw and fasten the screw 14, using a dynamometric wrench,
- adjust the plate 19 and push it against the support surface of the master jaw,
- fix the screw with its elastic washer + Loctite 572 or similar.

DISMANTLING AND REASSEMBLING INSTRUCTIONS
fig. A
The chuck does not work
One master jaw does not moves
Excessive vibration during rotation
The master jaws do not complete their stroke
There is an excessive radial clearance in the master jaws
The master jaws move too slowly
The movement of the master jaws is noisy
The clamping force is not suficient
The centrifugal force during rotation is too high
The jaws do not clamp the workpiece correctly
Concentricity errors
Repeatability errors
Parallelism errors
REASSEMBLING INSTRUCTIONS
ATTENTION: instructions refer to the most complicated version the NT-RD and NT-RC.
d) for the AP-D, AP-M and AP-C version, do not consider points 1, 4, 5, 6;
e) for the AP-RD, and AP-RC version, do not consider points 4, 5, 6;
f) for the NT-D, NT-M and NT-C version, do not consider point 1;
1) Assemble the inclined T-nut 14 and the quick change screw 15 on the the
master jaws and lock them in position with the locking pin 20;
2) Put seal 22 around each master jaw as shown on drg. A and insert each master
jaw into the body inserting carefully the seal 22 in its seat .
3) Assemble the central wedge 2 in the chuck body 1, paying attention to the
correct orientation ie. the wedge hook guide with the progressive serial number,
the same as the chuck body, must be mounted on master jaw 1.
4) Insert the centrifugal force masses 13;
5) Bring the central wedge and consequently the master jaws, roughtly to a middle
stroke position and insert the centrifugal force lever 11;
6) Mount plug 16 (NT version) or the screws 37 (AP... version).
7) Bring the master jaws covers 9 under the master jaws allowing the seal 22 to
enter in its seat in the covers (see drg. B).
Attention: for better sealing it's important to put a light layer of silicone paste on
the surface of the covers 9 that will contact against the chuck body.
8) Push the master jaws covers 9 (as shown on drg. B) into their seats and lock
them in position with bolts 30 and 31.
9) Reassemble, adapters, flanges, plugs and top jaws.
