5 Specify the partition size and then select [OK].
If [Confirm] is displayed, select [Yes].
6 Close the [Disk Administrator].
7 The message [Do you want to save the changes?] will be displayed. Select [Yes].
8 The message [Disks were updated successfully] will be displayed. Select [OK].
9 Select [My Computer].
10 Click [D:] (or the drive letter of a newly created drive) with the right button
and select [Format].
11 Select [Start].
12 When the operation completes, be sure to select [Start] - [Shut Down] and restart
the computer before using the second hard disk.
Windows 2000
1 Turn your computer on.
Be sure to log on with the authority of an administrator.
2 Select [Disk Management] in [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [Administrative
Tools] - [Computer Management] - [Storage].
3 When [Welcome to the Write Signature and Upgrade Disk Wizard] is displayed, select [Next].
4 At [Select Disk to Write Signature], add the check mark for [Disk 1] and select [Next].
5 At [Select Disks to Upgrade], remove the check mark for [Disk 1] and then select [Next].
6 Select [Finish].
7 Click the right side of [Disk 1] with the right button and select [Create Partition].
Follow the on-screen instructions.
8 When the operation completes, be sure to select [Start] - [Shut Down] and restart
the computer before using the second hard disk.
Removal and Installation from the Second Time On

Windows 98
If the second hard disk drive pack is installed with the computer on (using the BaySwap
function), the performance of the second hard disk may be affected. Therefore, we recom-
mend installation with the computer off, even for installation from the second time on.
When Changing the Partition (after First Time Operation)
CAUTION
The contents of a hard disk drive are completely erased.
Windows 98
Run FDISK to change the partition.
Windows NT
The partition can be changed in [Start] - [Programs] - [Administrative Tools (Common)]-
[Disk Administrator].
Windows 2000
The partition can be changed in [Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [Administrative
Tools] - [Computer Management] - [Storage] - [Disk Management].
