6.1.2 AIR TUBE

• If condensation is visible in the air tube, disconnect it from
the nebuliser after treatment. The air tube must remain
connected to the device.
Switch on the device. Allow it to operate until the air circulating
through the tube has removed any moisture (condensation).
The air tube must be replaced at least every 6 months (risk
of microbial contamination!).
In the case of contamination, discolouration or damage,
replace the air tube immediately (risk of infection!).

6.1.3 NEBULISER AND ATTACHMENTS

The nebuliser and the attachments used must be cleaned and
disinfected immediately after every inhalation routine.
Be careful when disassembling the parts of the nebuliser and
avoid damage.
Remove the mouthpiece, the adapter with the nosepiece,
the inhalation mask or the tracheostoma mask, as well as
the PEP cap as appropriate, from the nebuliser.
Disconnect the air tube from the nebuliser and from the air
connection of the device.
Pull off the top section of the nebuliser by twisting both parts
(anti-clockwise) gently against each other.
Remove the blue nebuliser nozzle on the inside.
Remove any residual medication.
Under warm running water from the tap, clean the individual
parts of the nebuliser as well as the attachments used.
Check whether dried residue is present. If dried residue is
present, place the individual parts in warm water and repeat
the previous step.
To improve the cleaning effect, commercially available
dishwashing detergent can be added to the warm rinsing
water. If the parts are strongly contaminated, they should
be placed in the rinsing water for a longer period of time.
Tenacious contaminations must be removed with a soft
brush or a soft cloth.
Place the individual parts in a disinfectant (see the instructions
provided with the disinfectant solution for information on the
application time).
Check for any residual disinfectant and remove it.
Dry the cleaned individual components on a clean base
surface. Residual moisture can increase the risk of germs
accumulating.
Alternatively, you can also clean nebuliser incl. PEP cap,
mouthpiece, adapter, nosepiece and inhalation mask
(exception: tracheostoma mask for tracheotomised patients)
in your washing machine (do not clean together with dirty
dishes!). Choose a program that runs at a minimum of 55°C
for this purpose.
The parts can also be boiled in hot water at 100°C.
We recommend cleaning the mouthpiece, the adapter, the
nosepiece of the inhalation mask, the nebuliser, as well as
the PEP cap after each use.
Do not use PEP cap, mouthpiece, adapter, nosepiece, in-
halation mask and tracheostoma mask if they are damaged
or if there are residues/soiling that cannot be removed by
rinsing.

6.1.4 DEVICE SURFACE

In the event of contamination, but at least once a week, the
entire surface of the device should be cleaned with a moist
cloth (never use a wet cloth) and should then be disinfected
with one of the surface disinfectants listed on page 14.
Some disinfectants can cause discolouration of the material,
which does not affect the functionality of the device though.
Make sure that the device has first been disconnected from
the mains power supply!
The device must never be autoclaved, rinsed under running
water or immersed in liquids!
Ensure that no liquid enters the ventilation slits and reaches
the device switch.
If liquid has penetrated into the device, it may only be started
up again after it has been checked by the manufacturer.
