Product Description

The Wireless Contact Detector
consists of a magnetic switch and a
magnet. The detector is operated in
combination with Carephones.
The magnetic switch is a wireless
reed switch and is used to monitor
doors and windows. The activity
monitor in the Carephone can be
reset via the daily button and the
Wireless Contact Detector. In this
instance, the detector does not
serve as an intrusion detector, but
as an external daily button for the
Carephone. Unlike triggering via the
daily button, there is no
announcement if triggering occurs
via the detector. This is suppressed.
The Wireless Contact Detector can
also be used within an AIM (Active
Intelligent Monitoring) system,
driven by a Carephone. 3 modes are
available:
- Mode 1: no AIM feature. This is the
default mode.
- Mode 2: AIM mode with 25 minutes
retrigerring during 16 hours. This is
designed for a bed application.
- Mode 3: AIM mode with 25 minutes
retriggering during 8 hours. This is
designed for a chair application.
Once the mode is set, it is
memorized permanently.

The magnetic switch also has a
housing contact. This contact can be
used as a wall tamper contact at the
same time. External contacts can be
connected via one of the zone
inputs of the magnetic switch:
- If external contacts are connected
as daily buttons for activity control
purposes, for example pressure
pads or door contacts, the activity
monitor of the Carephone can be
reset via these devices.
- If external contacts are connected
for emergency call initiation
purposes, e.g. a push button,
an emergency call is sent.
The configuration of the Carephone
determines whether an alarm from
this detector is used to forward an
intrusion alarm or to reset the
activity monitor (daily button).
In all modes, the Wireless Contact
Detector sends an alarm if the
tamper switch is released, if the
external contact is closing or
opening, or if the reed switch is
activated.
In modes 2 & 3, the retrigerring
happens only when the external
contact remains closed (normally
open state).
