Overview

Equipment Summary

Hybridization Incubators are designed to process nucleic
and protein blots derived from hybridization procedures.
Incubator heat is accurately controlled to precisely main-
tain the chamber temperature. Temperature can be set
between slightly above ambient and 85°C and is easily
set by simple controls on the front panel. A large, bright
display shows actual temperature during operation. The
incubator features keypad protection, which prevents the
set temperature from being changed. This is useful when
setting up a processing program where the unit will be
unattended. An offset temperature can be programmed to
compensate for the actual temperature inside a typical
sample loaded into the tubes. The incubator can monitor
and store the maximum deviation of the actual tempera-
ture from the set temperature. Temperature deviation can
be monitored and saved during processing and recalled
later. A separate safety thermostat limits the incubator
temperature to approximately 95°C in the event of a tem-
perature controller failure. An indicator on the front panel
shows when this condition exists. A rotisserie holds the
sample tubes and rotates to provide membrane coverage.
Rotisserie rotation speed can be varied by a knob on the
front panel. A jog control permits rotating the rotisserie in
steps to insert and remove tubes. The incubator has a
glass door for observing samples during processing.
