PUTTING ON THE HARNESS

1. Hold the harness in front of you; belay loop facing forward. Check that there are no twists in the
belay loop, leg loops, or the elasticized leg loop straps. The swami buckle should be positioned
left of centre on your waist when putting the harness on and the belay loop should be centered.
Also, make sure that the leg buckles are positioned on the outer part of each leg (not all models
have leg buckles). Step into the harness and pull up the waist belt and leg loops.
2. Positioning the waist belt between the hip bones and the ribs, pull the webbing through the
auto-locking buckle until the waist belt fits snugly. Stow the loose end of the waist belt webbing
in the stretch woven keeper tabs located beneath the left side gear loops. To ensure a proper
fit the ideal amount of overlap between the waist belt ends is approximately 2.5cm/1". There
is 7.6cm/3" range of adjustability within each size; if you cannot achieve a proper fit in one size
choose an appropriately smaller or larger size. The leg loops should be situated high on the
upper thigh and fit comfortably without restricting movement.
3. Harnesses with adjustable leg loops are fitted by tightening or loosening the webbing through
the auto-locking buckle (Figure 2). All Arc'teryx auto-locking buckles are fully-separating if desired,
and must be reassembled correctly otherwise serious injury or death may occur.
4. Prior to using the harness, perform a suspension test in a safe place to ensure that it is the
correct size and adjusted properly for personal comfort. If uncertainty exists regarding the fit or
adjustments, seek qualified professional advice before use.
5. During use, regularly check buckles and adjustments to guarantee a proper fit.
