Safety Instructions

Please read the operating instructions carefully and pay particular attention to
the safety instructions. We do not assume liability for injuries/material damag-
es resulting from failure to observe the safety instructions and the information

Furthermore, in such cases, the warranty/guarantee will be null and void.
• The product is not a toy. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not carelessly cast aside the packaging material. It may become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Please handle the product with care. It can be damaged by impact, blows, or by
being dropped, even from a low height.
• Do not use the device in a tropical climate.
• Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dripping or sprayed water, strong
vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.
• Do not place open flames, such as burning candles, on or close to the watch
winder.
• Never pour any liquids on or next to the product. Do not place any containers with
liquids, e.g., vases or plants, on or next to the product. Liquids may seep into the
casing and thus impair the electrical safety of the device. Furthermore, there is a
significant risk of fire or of a lethal electric shock!
• From time to time, check the device and the power unit for damage. Do not touch
the power adapter, the watch winder or the connecting cable if they show visible
signs of damage. First, switch off the appropriate mains socket (e.g., via the re-
spective circuit-breaker and the RCD) and then carefully pull the power adapter
from the mains socket. Do not use the product after that and take it to a specialised
workshop instead.
• Never replace a damaged connecting cable of power adapters. If the connecting
cable is damaged, the power unit is unusable and must be disposed of. Repairs
are not permitted.
• If safe operation is no longer possible, take the device out of service and secure
it against unintended use. Safe operation is no longer possible, if the product:

time or
- has been exposed to considerable strain during transport.
• In order to disconnect the watch winder completely from the mains supply, the

• If you have doubts about how the product should be operated or how to safely
connect it, consult a qualified technician.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair work should only be carried out by an expert
or a specialised workshop.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical customer service or other professionals.
• Never use the product immediately after moving it from a cold room into a warm
one. The condensation that forms might destroy the product. A power adapter also
carries the risk of a potentially fatal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power
supply and putting it into use. In some cases, this may take several hours.
Set-Up
The device should be operated only on a stable, level surface.
Make sure the appliance is well-placed; devices can fall and thereby causing un-
wanted accidents.
Avoid heavy impacts, or moving the device, especially when it is in use.
• When selecting the set-up location, take the room layout into consideration (e.g., location of
the nearest socket, etc.).
• Also keep in mind, when selecting the set-up location, the need to avoid proximity to direct
sunlight, vibration, dust, hot and cold temperatures and dampness.
• Keep the device away from powerful transformers or motors.
In view of the variety of paints and polishes used for furniture, the base of the device
may leave visible marks on the furniture on which it is placed, as a result of a chemi-
cal reaction. Therefore, do not place the device on the surface of valuable furniture
without appropriate protection.
Connecting the Power Adapter
Only the enclosed power adapter may be used for the mains connection.
Connect the power adapter only to a normal mains socket connected to the public
supply.
Make sure that the voltage indicated on the power adapter corresponds with the
mains voltage of your power supply. Never attempt to operate the device with any
other voltage.
Make sure that the connecting cable is not pinched or damaged by sharp edges
when making the connection.
The mains socket to which the power unit is connected must be easily accessible,
so the device can be quickly isolated from the mains power supply in the event of a
fault.
• Connect the low voltage adapter of the power adapter with the socket on the rear of the
device.
• Plug the power adapter into a wall socket.
