Danger from batteries
❐ Batteries can cause critical injuries if swallowed. There-
fore keep batteries and the appliance out of the reach of
small children. Obtain medical attention immediately if a
battery is swallowed.
❐ Before inserting the batteries, check that the contacts
in the appliance and on the battery are clean; clean, if
necessary.
❐ Use only the battery type specifi ed in the technical data.
Use high-performance alkaline batteries.
❐ Always replace all the batteries at the same time. Do not
use batteries of different types or brands, or batteries
with different capacities. Pay attention to the polarity
(+/–) when replacing the batteries.
❐ Take the batteries out of the appliance when they are
discharged or if the appliance is not going to be used
for a prolonged period. This will help to avoid damage
caused by leaking batteries.
❐ Should a battery have leaked, to not allow your skin, eyes
and mucous membranes to come into contact with the
battery acid. After contact with battery acid, wash the
areas affected immediately with copious amounts of clean
water and obtained immediate medical attention.
❐ Remove leaking batteries from the appliance immediately.
Clean the contacts before inserting a new battery.
❐ The batteries must not be recharged or reactivated by
other means, must not be dismantled, thrown into a fi re,
immersed in fl uids or short-circuited.
